Was listening to LWOS and Lee McQueen isn't claiming to be ITK, just that he heard we are offering a massive bonus to Kane if he stays one more year.

I hope we don't. There's nothing we can offer him financially that City can't. And when you're that rich, a cash incentive isn't going to matter.

He doesn't want to stay, and I genuinely believe with the right investment we'll be a better team without him.

He's 28. He's an ankle injury away from being worth half what he is now. It's time to part company

The squad cohesion felt harmonious and in sync yesterday. Especially the way everyone lingered for a long while near the corner flag after scoring, right in front of the fans.

Kane wasn't missed at all.
First thing I noticed. Son looked really happy and contented, Alli was joking with Gollini (who I think will make a wonderful addition to the squad with his infectious positivity) and the whole team looked like one smoothly operating unit.

That's why he has to go IMO. Of course we shouldn't accept something materially under par, but we need him out.

Having the biggest player at the club (at best) transparently feigning interest would be poisonous

Its a WC year so self interest will mean he has to show up (imo). Also the risk that City move on if he has a bad year or another target emerges. Id sell for the right money, but this is high risk stuff for Harry as well

Yep but 150m plus. No meet in the middle. Lets set a precedent that City have to go out of their comfort zone.

There was talk about Kane having a large loyalty bonus at the end of his 6 year contract, if this rumor is true then i'd imagine we're just agreeing to bring the existing loyalty bonus forward by 2 years.

That's why he won't hand in a transfer request otherwise such a bonus goes up in smoke.

even if they pay us £200m, it will be a very bad deal if its done with 15 mins to spare in the transfer window. It would basically mean us writing off the whole season because we would not have the opportunity to replace his goals and assists. I don’t see Levy spending the money in advance of receiving it either (too risky and City can just cut the price by £20m at the 11th hour to screw us)

How many times do we have to make the same mistake before we learn??

and its not just selling players with minutes to spare, how often to we buy players with minutes to spare, so the incoming players no matter how good, miss 3 or 4 games at the start, have no meaningful pre-season, aren’t properly fit for a couple of months.

Tell Abu Dhabi City FC in no uncertain terms - the price is £xxx Million, and the deadline is noon on Wednesday. Otherwise, you can go F**k yourselves, and we wont even be picking up the phone or answering emails, no matter how hysterical your friends at SSN get.

Assuming the reasons for the fine are clear and justified then I think it's a terrible decision whether he stays or not. Sets a terrible example going forward.

Can you imagine for example Ferguson allowing a situation like that where one play was allowed to play by his own rules on and off the pitch?

I agree that there needs to be consequences but whether it takes the form of a fine or not doesn't matter. Sir Alex had a different culture and HK wouldn't have thought he was an alpha male if he were playing for Sir Alex. He apparently does now and that is why the Nuno/Paritici tag team will play an important role in how this turns out. The future isn't set in stone and the actions that they take will impact that future.

Since one distinct possibility is that HK stays, setting the tone by rescinding the fine, resolution can be found possibly an amicable one if he stays. That's the reason for the iron fist/velvet glove analogy. He needs to know, as Reggie Hammond so eloquently put it, "there's a new sheriff in town, and his name is Nuno Espirito Santo, y'all be cool."

That's all well and good, but I think we should make him clean the bogs at the training ground just to be sure ;) :D.

I find the story about Nuno being less forgiving in private and unhappy to keep players not fully committed as entirely believable. I've been certain he wouldn't go all summer but I'm starting to think that 130+ add ons taking it to 150m might get it done.

Most players have a huge loyalty bonus at the end of their contracts/when the leave. That's how they work. They accumulate and are payed when the player leaves/contract ends/renewed.

A transfer request means they are not entitled to that fee, Kane has done everything but hand in a transfer request...

No fucking way we will sanction a sale for Kane for 130m to a direct rival, with 3 years left on his contract.

That’s fucking peanuts, you’re kidding yourself if you think otherwise.

“Harry - key word - loyalty”
