Oh Gareth just say you'll take it easy with him now and then the long term benefit is he'll be sharper for the summer.

If Kane gets overplayed by Southgate (or even plays during Welsh friendly) and then subsequently gets injured, I will go to Southgate’s home and do a big steaming turd through his letter box.

Now let’s wait and see if usual suspects like Alexander-Arnold are miraculously pulled from squad.
That you Eric?

What does it say? Link not working for me
It was Southgate responding to Jose asking not to play kane every match. He said something like well I hope Jose keeps kane fresh in may as 55 million people will be counting on him and it works both ways.

Southgate on Mourinho's comments: "Jose was great, he was on good form. He won't phone but he's going to stand on top of Tottenham's stadium and tell us [what to do]."

Yes Gareth we are trying to keep him fresh by buying a backup, if you fuck him up now its your problem later on

Seems a bit of a stupid pointless response from Southgate tbh (the sentence also doesn’t even make complete sense!) although he does go on to say they’ll be managing players fitness.

So you’d HOPE each striker would get a game each, regardless on whether Kane is keen to play all three.

When you have Ings and Calvin-Lewis to try out it would be folly not to really as needs to know they are up to it if he needs to call on them.

Written down, his quotes don't read particularly well - but I think this shows his comments were quite light hearted.

I doubt Kane will play all 3 games fully.

With the form Ings and Calvert-Lewin are in Southgate will give them a chance.
