Well, he’s been out for 6 months so why would he tire himself out doing non stop closing down on Friday, when he knows there’s nobody on the bench to sub on for him.
I'm not knocking him for it. It's to be expected. He should have been subbed off regardless of a direct like for like replacement.

But who? We didn’t have anyone to come on to keep the same team shape. Son was also knackered. We stupidly have no other strikers. It’s farcical and will only get worse until we get another one in.

Well it will be interesting to see if ENIC share that view during the summer, Jose will be lucky to get 2/3 in tops.
I think we are in for yet another season of mediocrity just like this one, and yes it is farcical but have we come to expect anything different.
I'm just interested in how this plays out with both levy and Jose, a chairman who has a particular vision of team building.
And then we have a manager who voices his discontent through the media when he is unhappy about two Bob signings or anything, this should be imense fun.

He was clearly wacked by 60/70mins & I would have moved Son centrally & brought someone on wide, although he could have put Lamela wide & brought on N'Dombele.

I keep saying it, but it was a massive mistake to let Llorente go. Yeah he was old and slow, but when he came on, he was an outlet that helped us relieve pressure.

I couldn’t believe it last summer. I probably said back then it was a mistake letting him go and brining nobody else in. We go over it every week though don’t we!

I’m guessing they thought they’d be able to get someone in, and didn’t want to give him a contract, and by the time the Dybala deal fell through he’d gone.

Yep. It’s so boring going on about it, but all these issues are our own fault.

I'd still give it 3 or 4 games yet before arguing about his physical decline. If he's still trundling at that point then maybe we can start asking questions a little.

Cant do anything now but we should be carrying 3 CF's for next season.

Given the actual lack of striking occurring I'd have just put Skipp or Ndombele on for kane, moved Lo celso up front with Son and then had more threat as we'd have had a decent fresh player who can run on the front line.

Yep, what was needed was fresh legs. It didn't matter who, we just needed to go back to what we were doing first half. Pushing our very low block up the pitch to engaging them at the halfway line again with 10 outfield players who could get in behind the ball, and then run in behind that vulnerable United defence that was pushing up even more and had one centre back on the field for a time.

That's what I would have gone to:

Sessegnon left to run up and down and help Davies. Sissoko to the right, can also break forward of course, with Aurier able to get up the flank outside him also. Gedson can run, Lamela then Lo Celso can come towards the ball and link play as runners get up alongside and beyond them. Whilst all those then on the pitch can be trusted to get in behind the ball, are mobile, and hopefully continue to be difficult to break down.

When I hear managers say 'I had no options', so just bury their head in the sand and usually your team doesn't get the result, it winds me up no end. These are professionals at the top of their profession paid millions of pounds. Their heads should be swimming with millions of potential ideas and combinations and the bollocks to try something. Not good enough at all.

Might be an unpopular opinion but I would sell Kane. He’s not the player of 2 seasons ago and I would get some money while we still can.

He needs to play in a role similar to Ebgland. And u know we won’t invest in the players to run off him.

I’m not sure though I would give those funds to Mourinho. All in all it’s a mess at the mo. Albeit a solveable one.

Sell Kane...Christ Almighty :X3:

Hopefully these silly posts have the same affect when that guy was talking about selling Lloris before the last match :)

It wont end well. Jose is going to expect some signings. Levy will be trying to figure out how he can sign no one again and still save face
