Just cannot believe this is third season in a row he’s out for significant period.

Maybe in the long term this will be a blessing in disguise. Jose hopefully will let the board know it's mental not to have an appropriate backup and hopefully Jose will now try 4-3-3 with Dele in the false 9 and finally play Lo Celso and Ndombele with 1 sitter instead of trying to shoehorn the 4-2-3-1. If that goes well then once Kane comes back Jose will then have a decision to make on dropping Dele/Moura. From my own experiences, change tends to only happen once things have gone completely tits up.

Maybe, but you look at Liverpool.

How often have they rotated Salah, Friminio and Mané?

They seem to play pretty much every game.

I read that part of their scouting they took into account their injury history, of which for Salah and Mane there was very little. Kane on the other hand.

I‘d love us to try 4-3-3 with Dele dropped and either Skipp or Dier as the sitting. Would be really interested to see if Winks is any better in that system as he’s been effective for England in that kind of set up.

But any combo of a midfield three with Skipp or Dier alongside Winks, Lo Celso or Ndombele would be nice.

I'm pretty sure if we had a backup striker, Kane would still play most of the matches anyway.

It just the way he is.

They don’t rotate them, but Klopp will sub two out of the 3 usually, especially if they are winning. Kane never gets subbed. Unless he gets injured.

Controversial but would anyone actually want us to sell Kane for say £200million if we re-built our squad but actually spent the money properly unlike what we did with the Bale money and bring in top class players for : RB, LB, CB, CDM, AM, STx2?

similar to what Liverpool did with selling coutiniho and getting VVD, Allison, Fabinho & Keita...?

either way I think if we don’t vastly improve then he could put in a transfer request this or at the latest the following summer.

obviously I don’t want us to sell our best player, captain leader and loyal spurs man and want to build a team around him to finally win trophies but if we won’t do that or if it turns out we have no money to spend and only option to improve all these positions was to sell Kane then would you?

I was thinking the same thing and I'm not so against Kane leaving now as if we keep going the way we are and not taking the steps to really enhance the team to the quality that he somewhat warrants then I'd almost think he'd be stupid to stay. Would hurt to see him in another shirt though.

We are going to miss him badly. The only reason we were still able to pick up points when he was out the last times was because we had a fully committed Eriksen around to help win games with Son up top also contributing. Those who think it’s not going to be a miss without that Eriksen around are in for a big shock I’m afraid. Big shock.

I wouldn't want us to sell him, but if he wanted to leave I wouldn't blame him. £200m wouldn't be enough to get top players in all of those positions, but I guess other players would also have to be sold to make room in the squad.

What nonsense is this wanting to sell Kane ? Kane is Spurs and is not the problem. The problem is the under performing players around him.

He'll be off till the Euros. He's working towards getting fit for that I'm sure he's written off the season with Spurs.

It’s been said before that because of the way our contracts are written, players get paid a lower wage when not playing in the team. Kane will want to be back ASAP, he’s not going to sit out the rest of the season.

His main priority is his country I think. That's his main gig. Spurs are definitely secondary.

This attitude from our most lauded player is why we'll always be nearly men.

It's a shame but we all need to accept it.

Reckon we'll have a good run without him. It won't start with Liverpool though who'll absolutely school us and rub in how far ahead they've pulled ahead of us.

Happy New year.
