The worse of him today. Slow, unfit and uninterested. Pre-season looked so sharp but all went downhill. Hardly the ever-improving professional model we would link him to two seasons ago. Is almost like he's reserving all his energies to play only for England.

What a shame..

I suppose you missed all the times he tried to close down and intercept the keeper or their defenders?

He didn’t have a good game but to suggest he made no effort is nonsense.

He had absolutely fuck all service, apart from one half chance in the first half.

Kane has had years without any competition for his place. The motivation factor of losing your place is psychologically massive in professional sport.

Kane is the least of our problems but he does often get a free pass. If that had been amy of our precious strikers putting in that performance he would have been slaughtered on here.

I think we can honestly say he wont be ripping it up like Vardy at 32 years old. Unless something dramatic changes he won't be hitting 20 league goals this season.

I think he will get 20 this season. I think if Brendan told his defenders to hoof it to Vardy to flick on and hold up etc, i doubt he would get the goals he has.

I genuinely dont get this, and this happened with Poch to but with varying degrees. We have one of the best finishers in the world yet we have him dropping deeper than the midfielders or tryign to outmuscle defenders as if he is Drogba. The guy isnt Drogba.

Glad with you guys' optimism on him. Totally hope I'm wrong, but if Kane is not been seen as a potential problem too if such performances carry on, which is actually not far and few already, it is really worrying.

If he blows hot and cold under both Poch and Mourinho, it just means to me he is playing only for himself. Like the squad, he is stagnating after 4-5 seasons of burnt out.

Funny that now I was hoping we could be called the Harry Kane team once more.

What a shame..

That England line is so boring. Different manager, different tactics and different level of opposition for England games. And there have many games for England where he's hardly been involved and yet still scored with the one or two chances that he gets.

Why wouldn't he get 20 goals this season? We've been poor most of the season and he''s still on nine and we're one game short of the halfway stage.

If we continue to play the way we have in the last couple of matches he is going to struggle.

Agreed against the top teams and want some control of the game.

Dominating fullbacks and Dembele in the middle made it work. I'm not sure we can get anywhere near that with the current personnel. Will be interesting to see how Mourinho will set the team up without Son.

The fuck is up with people? He's in the top 2-3 players to ever play for us.

Aside from Messi and Ronaldo, do you honestly think that any other forward in world football would do better? I feel so sorry for the guy.

Over the years he's had prime Walker and Rose flying down each wing. Who we got now...fucking Serge brain-dead Aurier and Jan (who I love but isn't an attacking full back) or modern day Rose who wants to leave.

We've currently got the worst CM pairing we've had in a few years in Dier and Sissoko. Neither are ball players, so fuck all gets created from the middle of the park. What I would give for Dembele back....yes he didn't get goals or assists, but he was so comfortable on the ball he relieved so much pressure and could help drive us forward. To think we once had Modric too.

All Kane could do yesterday was close their defence and keeper down as we rarely had any control of the game.

The annoying thing is that we have ball players in the squad like Ndombele and Lo Celso. How they could be worse creatively than Dier and Sissoko I don't know. At least both are comfortable on the ball.

Sorry, guess you will be disappointed. Look at the heatmap from yesterday and you will know how reluctant was our front 4 in attacking and harassing their defence compared to what they did to us. And I do have massive issues with that when we have 4 attacking players, but none were interested in pressing their back 3 even with their FBs so high up the pitch.

Then look at how deep Kane dropped to so near our defence. Compared that to Abraham who hardly stepped back into his own half.

Harry Kane is not only the best finisher we have, but probably also the best playmaker/passer. Its natural when your team is playing so utterly dreadful to try and get on the ball to help. And because we had zero control of the game he had to drop deeper.

Chelsea played fantastic yesterday. You cannot compare what Abraham was doing to what Kane was doing given that was one of the worst performances you'll see from us as a team. Mason Mount looks a good player but we made him look like a world class player.

Surely there is no denial on Kane's capabilities. I don't think none of the fans wouldn't him to break all the goal-scoring records the club is holding. What some of us is questioning on is his commitment in the past season and a half, especially after the ankle-injury and came back for the CL final, he was way past him previous enthusiasm and fired-up mode. Would gladly welcome anyone to playback all the matches we have this season and watch how he was jogging for most of the time than last time when he would sprint and press/bully defenders.

If the rumours were true of him not wanting to play for Poch, I see very little reason for him to maintain the same attitude and lacklustre in games playing for Mourinho now. He mentioned just a week or two ago that he would love to learn from Mourinho who has won everything, but a London derby last night, 6-pointer for us to go 4th place, was a crucial game not to go missing but he did. Granted the CM2 were shit, this narrative has been spoken to death and I wouldn't even use that to justify for Kane's poor performance, but that shouldn't limit him totally, especially we won some of the other 5-6 games with the same CM2 pairing.

He will always be one of our own. He is a legend for me already. It is just more painful to watch him play like he doesn't really care when the whole world knows this player could excel beyond as a 3rd best player with his pure determination of improving all aspects of himself just 2-3 seasons ago.
