I wonder how Kane feels knowing these clubs won't pay 100m for him but OK paying it for Rice or Grealish. I don't know how he can still want to go there to be honest. Yeah they only rate you at 85m, fuck them.

Rice is 24 to be fair, and was subject to a bidding war. Don't see any other serious interest in Kane that he would consider.

Probably because they have been led up the garden path by Kanes family. Believing that Levy will cave at £65/70m as that’s the gentleman’s agreement that they probably believe in.

One of the worst things Harry’s done is allowing his brother to become his agents. He was better off chucking him a few million and giving the job to someone competent.

A decent agent would have prepped City back in 2021 and BM now, told them what it would genuinely take, price wise and help the client out by negotiating an exit with Levy. Instead Charlie has opened his mouth at weddings and making it known he’s been jetting off for “secret” meetings with Bayern. Not surprised that’s rubbed Levy up the wrong way.

That’s before we get onto signing him up to a 6 year contract and potentially loosing him a big signing on fee and wages if he stayed another season at spurs.
Charlie wasn’t responsible for the 6 year contract

"Fair market value" is a price agreed between a buyer and a seller, not just what someone will pay for him, if we are not a willing seller at that value.

DM (Simon Jones & Sami Mokbel)

Bayern Munich will make CLUB RECORD £85m offer for Tottenham star Harry Kane after talks with Daniel Levy in London

  • Bayern Munich continue to prioritise a move for Tottenham star Harry Kane
  • The German giants have so far had two bids turned down for the England captain
  • Bayern are preparing to smash their transfer record and make an £85m offer
The striker is open to a move to Germany and while Levy wants at least £100m for his star man, it is believed an offer in the region of £90m would tempt him.

From my view Simon Jones has seemed to be a bit scattergun with us but Sami Mokbel can be more reliable. - might be wrong.

Seems to be a similar line to what The Times are running.

I don’t subscribe to this whole needing to sell Kane argument to buy players. The club isn’t exactly broke by any means. This is just a coping mechanism wheeled out to let the club off the hook.
What? We’re not going to go broke if we don’t, sure.

But we’ll also have about 90m less to spend on players. Players who will last longer than a year and who we might even be able to sell for more than we bought them for!!

That’s a sensible trade IMO

Flying somewhere twice in a month to sign a player & coming up well short both times & multiple offers in between is absolutely laughable. Please get serious Bayern. Put up the money or fuck off.

Interesting, almost like something happened between the low spend in the prior 20 years that allowed us to have one of the highest net spends in the last 3 years. Can't quite put my finger on what that was.

oh yeah the £1Bn stadium and £853M debt pile - the highest in the PL.

if we were debt free your argument would stack up. Sadly we’re not and so it doesn’t.

good effort though
Yes we have debt but it's serviceable at an extremely low rate (fixed IIRC) so the terms are favourable (I seem to recall that in real terms until it's paid, it's basically us not able to buy one £20-30 million player a season not per window) *

The above should be offset by having a squad capable of getting CL or EL football each season. (which again poses the question why wouldn't you invest to build a squad that can achieve this yearly?)

Given our revenue streams, that shouldn't be an issue (certainly not for us to plead poverty every transfer window)

Which begs the question where's the money going if ENIC insist they don't take money out of the club?

The playing side should have been planned and refreshed each season where we don't need to drop a hundred million each window.

What bamboozles me is if JL/his estate, genuinely wanted to get the upper end of their asking price for the club you put in value in terms of playing staff, simple economics; for me this latter point seems like DL being deliberately awkward to put off buyers (pure speculation from me but it would tally with ITK saying DL had been behaving poorly towards potential interests, I think it was Dragon and TBF I don't know how much was opinion with that comment.)

*A grown up may be better placed to correct what I typed but here's a link Club Link

Any prat of a chairmen with eyes in his head should be able to do the maths of we've leaked far too many goals for years and we're selling our best player and getter of said goals, let's not sell him but let's invest in plugging the leak, by Juno that might make us competitive!

Maybe he would leave on a free even if we win the league but at that point I'd have wished him well (just not against us!) he didn't cost us anything and for all those years of service I wouldn't have begrudged him the move (unless he went to the goons or chavs) that we're still penny pinching in case Harry left on a free. You know what else makes a dent in losing Harry for free? A fucking naming rights deal! WTF happened to that?
No naming rights partner will ever be the "right fit" for DL!

I'm still taking the adamant stance that whatever happens with Kane shouldn't affect the rest of our business.

Granted, it kinda looks like it is but I'm clinging on to a little bit of hope that now we're back from tour, shit will start happening.

The team arrived back Mcflash, but other than Sanchez, there have been no other names of the players who can leave our bloated squad, with under 2 weeks to Brentford, that should at least be making progress behind the scenes, to bring money in towards transfer kitty, but it's like were stuck in limbo.

I can't see it being anything less than £100m. For optics alone it is a lot easier to spin that we got good fee for our best ever player, with less than a year left on his contract, if we can report £100m+ than anything below.

Call them tomorrow, tell them the price is 95m plus a 25% sell on and give them 24hrs or he stays and we plan our incomings accordingly. It's not hard.

85 million! Piss off and come back when you're done day dreaming you dayglo twats, we'd be absolute mugs to let him go for anything less than a hundred!
If DL is going to try and sell the illusion that we're that skint we need a crap amount for Harry to afford two top CB's then someone is skimming money out of this club.

That’s not the reason we are doing it, it’s because levy doesn’t want to look weak and give in to them. I don’t blame him in this case personally.

No idea what’s going on with the lack of transfers in and out but I suspect it’s more of what we’ve seen in the past. As usual we’ll be really active in the last two weeks of the window. It’s fucking annoying because it happens nearly every year and ruins the start to the season when we do it.
It is crazy - the amount of times that we've been there with the lastminute.com transfers and it clearly doesn't help the coach. The Kane situation is difficult because clearly, even in the last year of his contract, he should command a high value because he is that good, I hate the fact that we are kicking the can down the road if we don't sell him this summer.

It's clear Bayern have no respect for us, which you might argue is to be expected seeing as the german clubs roll over for them. Fingers crossed they've completely bunged it.

It wouldn't surprise me if they've ~ offered €90m (£77m) + €10m add- ons, which is where we're getting these figures of £20-25m out, if we want £100m guaranteed plus.

Would be in line with previous reports (I think) of ~ €70+10 first bid and €80+10 second bid.

The reason Levy won't set a deadline is because the idea of Bayern offering 100m or more just before the window shuts will make him rock hard. He doesn't give a toss if we lose the first 3 games.

Just thinking aloud but I feel like BM are starting to lose face here. As everyone keeps saying, they're used to bullying teams in their league and getting what they want.

They obviously REALLY want him. If they can't go out and get him it doesn't look good for them does it?

Not sure if I have a point really lol. If one is in there anywhere, it's that I still think this will be done eventually.

Anyone really think they flew out here, arranged time with Levy, sat down, just to reiterate the same offer that was lodged a week ago? I can't see it.
