100% this.75 out of 100 fans couldn’t tell you the all time scoring record holder. 95 out of 100 can tell you the PL goal scorer record holder. For younger fans, life pretty much did begin with the PL. it’s the highest watched league in the world ffs
I was born in 1990, and although I appreciate all football before the PL started, it's all i've ever know and grown up with.
Whenever they show "records" in regards to English league competitions it's 99% "Premier League" records, whether that's goals scored, assisted, basically every single one.
I'd honestly be utterly shocked if firstly, Bayern stumped up enough cash for Levy to accept, and secondly, Kane genuinely wanting to go their at this current moment.
Not shitting on Bayern, they are a huge club of course, also not saying Spurs are currently a more desirable team to play for that Bayern.
If he goes to Munich, he won't be leaving for atleast 3 years. What will he realistically win in 3 years? 2 Bundesliga titles easily most likely, they don't have an equivalent of a League cup, only FA cup which is the DFB Pokal, which is a cup they havn't actually won in the last 3 years, so say 1 cup in the next 3 years? Bayern have won the Champions league once in the last 10 years, so lets be generous and say he'll win a CL in those 3 years too.
So hypothetically (massively) He could potentially win 2 german league titles, 1 domestic cup and a champions league, certainly nothing to be scoffed at, but 3 years out of England could make becoming the Premier League all time goal scorer no longer possible.
This is all hypothetical of course, but honestly, if i'm Kane and wanting my legacy to ATLEAST end with setting a premier league goal scoring record that probably won't be beaten for atleast another 20 years, i'm gonna stay at Spurs for the season, see how things go. Best case for us, and maybe him, we have a brilliant season, finish top 4, with a cup etc and he signs a new deal. Worst case for us but still a fantastic situation for him, we have a poor season and leaves on a free, which without a doubt will likely be City or Utd.
If he sees out his contract and signs for City next summer, he'd quite easily win more trophies and IMO more important to him trophies and records than he would going to Bayern now.
