Think I might have gotten to the bottom of the issue, Citeh have found out that Charlie is responsible for the SatNav and are a little concerned Harry will never turn up

Lewandowski to City makes too much sense … apart from the fact Bayern are asking for £110m and he’s 32 years old.

If they can get the price lower, I think City would go for him for a season or two instead of Kane.
33 in 2 days, I believe.

Lewandowski has obviously been tapped up, you don't just come out with this towards the end of the window otherwise. Can only be Citeh surely.

I don't believe Bayern would let Lewandowski leave so late in the transfer window. They've already let Alaba and Boateng run down their contracts. They know that replacing a striker, even more in their case than ours, is really hard. They don't really need money, too. I guess this is Zahavi's ploy to test Oliver Kahn, new Bayern's president.

Swap the names with Tottenham, Kane and levy and there’s little difference in the scenarios between us and them.

I don't see any world where City refuse to get near £100m for Kane, and yet pay that for a 32 year old* Lewandowski :ROFLMAO:

Sounds like brinkmanship to convince us they have other options

The main difference is they fight for the Bundesliga title and Champions League every season and need their striker to be firing in all games, whereas we can afford to buy potential and hope the team grows and become a challenger in 2 years time.

These player values have all the markers of an economic bubble, just think housing market and dot.com bubble. This isn’t exactly new in football, but we’ve never seen such exaggerated prices before.

Players are being set at crazy prices simply because X sold for Y. The problem is, at some point liquidity dries up as nobody can afford to pay, or simply refuse to pay and the whole thing crashes, or in the case of football, the market stalls.

We’ve been expecting there will be a fire-sale across Europe as so many clubs need to sell, due to crippling debt, but so far the opposite has happened. Clubs are currently over inflating sales prices in the hope some rich club will bite. This is a risky game, brinksmanship at the highest level and makes me think some clubs will end up in serious trouble.

For Spurs, it’s not ideal timing at all. I’m sure Levy and Paratici confidently budgeted for each incoming player at the start of the season, only for these prices to be almost doubled. I really don’t blame the club for not paying such crazy prices, it is unsustainable, especially the wages that follow such a high purchase price.

On the flip side, your average player is worth less than nothing, you literally can’t give a player away because of his high wages.

I know we were all expecting a good summer and I hope that still is the case, but throw in a few idiots that are naive enough to pay over the odds and the whole thing ends up becoming a deadline day fiasco. If that happens this year I really don’t think Levy & Co are to blame, this is totally unsustainable long term.

If Lewandowski leaves, would Kane fancy moving to Bayern? Guaranteed League Winners medal and Champions League every season - that's what he's after isn't it?

tRoPHieS ??

But Bayern will be looking for a striker - so could cause a domino effect.

Kane wants Shearer's PL goals record too, can't afford to spend a couple of seasons abroad if he wants to achieve that.

Agree with some others I really think he stays this season, surely it's too late in the day to let him move without having secured replacements.
