Anyone else just completely bored by this saga now?
OMG best one yet
They're apparently forgetting that we sold Walker to them.
City fan talking about cartels. (Ever heard of OPEC you dumb fucks?)
You couldn't make it up. ?
That quote, if dated correctly, would have been from his first season as Barca manager (his second, after a season with the B team), and so it would have almost certainly have been in spanish. He wasn't the most famous manager in the world at that time.
If you wanted to find the original quote, you'd have to look in a different language and search for the right phrasing, then be certain that it wasn't referenced from a throwaway quote in a presser (e.g. not written down). 2009 was a different world for the internet, and things weren't as forensic. Bear in mind in that season he raved about Pedro (who'd just come through from the B team) and had sold Ronaldinho, technically replacing him, so it's not out of the realms of plausibility that he would say that.
Main point really is that it can neither be proven as true nor fake without evidence, so it's a bit strong to claim it as such if the only reason is "because I couldn't find it on Google in English"?
Or the super league.. which they were bizarrely part of
Am convinced if he’d hopped on to Mendes or Raiola’s books he’d have been playing in Sky Blue against us at the weekend. The problem with them keep bringing up the gentleman's agreement stuff, is that that it makes them seem like complete amateurs. Is he really saying that if we had finished 15th but beat Man City in the League cup, that would have been enough to keep him happy? If he just came out with his point of view, "I don't think I can win anything with Spurs, here is my transfer request" fans whilst not happy would be more understanding.
His biggest mistake was entrusting his future to his idiot of a brother and relying on a gentleman's agreement which means fuck all to anyone when you have 3 years left on your contract.
He should be made to travel to Portugal, train with the squad in full view of the press and sit on a bench like the 'professional' he claims to be. I'm absolutely bored of this now. I only hope now that if sold we absolutely rinse every penny out of Man City.
