Just checked Bluemoon for itk from their side and the chat on the Harry Kane thread is, rather stereotypically, just about pies, chips and gravy.

Read into that what you will.

Massive dollop of co-op brand salt with this, but a guy called Danc on COYS posted this…

My first bit of ITK from this morning. A friend on a spurs group I’m on. Take with the necessary pinch of salt but I have no reason to disbelieve it. And it tally’s up with what we have already heard.

I'm friends with Sam Hitchen (Steve's wife) and just bumped into her in CO OP. I asked her about Kane situ, she said he's said he'll stay but wants a new contract with more money and a release clause. Kane, his brother, his Dad, Levy, Steve and Fabio are thrashing it out this morning..

Hahah this is great, I love the thought of Charlie Kane trying to deal with the likes of Levy & Paratici, I can just picture them laughing at him.

I've just realised in my head I've always pronounced your username Knock-an-dough and it's No can do.

Anyway, as you all were.

I just had a light bulb moment- the Kane family are trying to copy Poch who acted as his own agent etc.
The problem is they don't have the IQ's, are not as well liked, don't have the sense nor do they have such brilliant personalities that make most people who come into contact with them respect them etc.
Harry needs to get a grip and a new agent.

Well it will have to be declared at some point.
Does the fee have to be declared by either team given that neither are publicly traded? I wouldn’t have thought it would need to be separated out on the balance sheet either when it came to the respective accounts as it would be bundled up with the other transfers in/out depending who’s account we were looking at??

I think some people are over simplifying a very complex and nuanced scenario with many pros and cons for every outcome.

I think the supposed stances by Levy and Paratici are both compelling for different reasons and it's a but of a 'Sophie's Choice'. My opinion on it is changing and flip flopping almost daily.

Let's just hope and back the powers that be to come to the right decision which only time will tell.

When I hear the phrase 'thrashing it out', I imagine a bunch of people in a room head banging to Slayer. Never had Levy down as the type.

I have the drummer from Slayer’s drumstick in my house which I got from the gig at the Brixton Academy in the early 90’s.

I don’t even listen to Slayer anymore and I doubt anyone is really interested in this piece of info, but I thought it would make a change from debating the price that we’d find acceptable for Kane for a minute at least.

If (and it's a big if) we want to sing a song to try and 'hurt' Kane then a simple ...

Get out of our club,
Get out of our club,
Harry Kane,
Get out of our club

... would suffice.

BUT ... any negativity towards Kane on Sunday will create a negative atmosphere, affect the team, and weaken our hand and not Man City's. Personally I hope he is named on the bench (just to remind both him and City he is still our player) and is made to warm up a lot (just to feel awkward) and the fans ignore him and sing the 'one of our own' song exclusively for Ollie Skipp all game.

I'd favour indifference for the time being. Maybe a polite perfunctory clap if his name is announced or he tries to clap the fans.

Was that from the Dave Lombardo era or other chap who's name I can't remember?

Sorry completely off topic.

Only sell Kane for at least £150m. :sneaky:

We're actually in a decent position here.

If Kane stays we get to keep the leagues top scorer and creator last season, his contribution could be the difference between Europa and CL which in itself is a big chunk of money, maybe even difference between selling him this season vs next.

If he goes we have a huge pot of money in a buyers market that will probably never be like this again and can get a few very very good players in.

Either way, there's positives to take.

Even if we reach the decision that we are happy to sell him then you're right - there is no way that we can replace the best player in the league with the most assists and goals. He was the equivalent of 2 1/2 world class players last year. We can't attract ready made world class players to replace him.

While I know we need a rebuild - i'm predicting a difficult, unpleasant season.
I understand what you mean when you look at Kane in isolation, but look at it from another way…

…Kane scored 23 goals in the PL last year. It’s unlikely that we’ll bring in someone who can do that, so it will probably take 2 new forwards to replace Kane’s goals, which means another one of our front three would drop out. It won’t be Sonny that drops out, so it is one from Lucas or Bergy. Out of those two, Lucas scored the most in the PL with a giddying 3 goals, so the net loss of goals would be 26 that need replacing.

However, our defence was also pretty shocking. We’ve brought in Romero and it sounds like we’re close with Tomiyasu. If they’re as good as we hope, then we hopefully concede less goals. If we conceded say 5 less goals over the course of the league season, then the 2 new forwards only need to find 21 goals to offset Kane’s contribution; that’s only 10/11 goals each.

I realise that this is an extremely simplistic, “all things being equal” way of looking at it, but there were 6 other teams who managed to find a way of finishing higher up the league than us and not one of them had Harry Kane.

Each time we sold our top players, be it Berbatov, Modric, Bale, we always managed to use that as a means to progress the team. Admittedly, not all of the money was spent perfectly, but in the round, the Club grew. Not all of the Kane money will be well spent, but if it means we become regular challengers for the title like we were when we lost out to Leicester and Chelsea then it will be worth it.

Yep, I couldn’t actually remember the geezers name, so thanks for reminding me(y).

Back in the day where you’d go to a gig to more or less have a fight :D. Even though I was a metaller I never really understood that part of it and still don’t.

Maybe in the unlikely event that Kane stays, he and Charlie should be dropped in the mosh pit at a Slayer gig as a form of punishment.
