The team needs to be built around his strengths

Erkisen compliments him very well but we need more players capable of getting crosses in and playing the right balls at the right time for him

Chadli, Townsend, even Lamela don't really look up to the job

I think if we can get more creativity and balance up the team with some experience and leadership at CB and CM we can become a force next year. Give can chances and he will score goals, help the midfield and defense with some quality and experience and take some pressure of Lloris and we will have a good balanced side capable of competing with the best next season

Upgrading our current WF options is key to our creativity though

Lamela doesn't see the field enough to draw concrete conclusions but every time he has I've felt their link-up has been far superior to everyone outside of Eriksen. Remember that shot DeGea parried with his arse? Lamela played the through ball for Kane.

Lamela's first touch worries me

I don't doubt he has technical ability but sadly I am doubting his ability to apply that ability in our league

I was hoping for some more progress from him this year

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we were actively looking to move him on in the summer

I suppose it all depends how much of his 30m we have to pay and if there are any triggers in terms of game time that would result in us having to pay more of it (hopefully so far we're not required to pay the full sum because he looks to have been highly over valued at 30m)

Relative to the offers coming in for him I suppose

I think we'd be lucky to get bids north of £15m so it depends if we already owe £30m for his services or if some of that fee is dependant on milestones not yet met

It really is incredible how much Kane has developed.

I know he was banging in goals for the academy but nobody could have expected this.

Fantastic player.

He's too good for us at the moment, we don't deserve him.
It reminds me of my youth though

We always seemed to have a top level striker performing disproportionately well compared to the rest of the team

First it was Lineker, then Sheringham and finally Klinsmann

About time we had a striker up there with the top goal scorers in the league again (not since the Keane/Berbatov partnership have our strikers not been a weak link really)

We trained him and gave him his opportunity. I realise the lad is playing out of his skin at the moment, but f**king hell. If anyone deserves him it is us, not a poxy team that can just afford to throw £60+ million around

They all left and he will too unless we can build a team to match his ability.

Seems like some people in the club wanted to get rid of him according to Sherwood, yes it's Sherwood, haven't read this from the beginning but I bet there are some that said get rid of him.
He really got his chance by default due to Soldado being so shit and Adebayor not being up for the job. If we really had faith he was going to be this good, I'm sure we wouldn't have bought a 28 year old with no resale value.

I just hope we keep the faith when he hits a baron run, it happens to everybody regardless of ability, he just needs continued support (which I think he'll get!).

Depends how good he becomes compared to how good we become I suppose

If he continues to progress at this rate and has the likes of Barca and Real after him we'd probably not be able to keep him regardless (Man U couldn't even keep Ronaldo when they were at the peak of their powers once Madrid started kicking the door down)

I don't see him leaving anytime soon to be fair though

Now this we can't say with any certainty

Equally it could be viewed the opposite way

I.E. - we spent big money on an experienced striker with no resale value because we only wanted short term benefit from him rather than standing in Kane's way but to be there as an experienced head for Kane to learn off and enable him to be bedded in slowly with less pressure on his shoulders

Unless you know something I do not we simply can't say with any certainty what the plans were for Kane behind the scenes or what the expectations were for him

Aside from what Sherwood said I suppose - although that could equally be considered as Sherwood self promoting and taking credit for Kane's emergence (also we don't know who Sherwood was referring to and what the consequences of this were, what if for example only AVB didn't rate Kane but everyone else did and Kane was seen so much as a prospect by the rest of the people behind the scenes that it played a role in his demise as our manager.....pure guess work but that's because none of us really know what went on)

19 in 26. Top league goalscorer yet didn't start a game till november. Wow!

Yeah and up until November we could barely score a goal.........yet there are Spurs fans who actually believe that Harry Kane isn't carrying us.

I'm sure Levy will be licking his lips, he won't build a team around him!. He'll sell if right offer comes in !.

He’ll eventually sell if we get what Levy deems the correct amount and Harry wants to leave because the club either lacks ambition or tells him they would like to sell him

From Kane himself

but if Tim Sherwood hadn’t come in, who knows where I would be now? It could have been different.
I could have gone on another loan, ended up with another team. I took my chance, but I’m sure a lot of other players don’t even get that.

Tim Sherwood, the Tottenham manager who gave Kane his break last season, says that one of the questions he was constantly asked about the player at his former club was, ‘Is he Champions League?

I have to say, that seems very believable.
