Yeah he can sit with his dozen sauerkraut cups looking at Shearers now untouchable record in years to come. IMO He will regret this decision soon and for a long time.

New chapter, yes, and maybe a new book. The romance of football is all about the next big possible thing. Can Dane Scarlett become as mighty? It will be fascinating to see.

Throwing away the chance to get Shearer’s record. I would have thought that would have been seen as a bigger achievement than maybe a couple of champions league medals. He would just be added to the list of players who have won several times and there are plenty on that list already. All time premier league goal scorer is a list of one!

June 2014, SC exchange. Insert Dane for Kane:

Kane will be adequate back-up for a few games.

Yep. I actually hope he may end up being considerably more than that, by the season's end.

Sad day!!
Bayern are almost guaranteed a trophy every year, so if he doesn’t win one there he’s destined to never win one☹️

Where does one start?? Following The Spurs since 1974 and saw a lot of ups and downs along with players coming and going. I saw Hoddle, Gazza, Bale, Modric, Sheringham etc all leave. Now Kane. There is absolutely no question that he is one of the greatest ever to wear our shirt. But to someone else’s point earlier, the love affair from his part ended two years ago. Do I wish him well?? Of course I do. Am I gutted?? Of course I am. He is somewhat irreplaceable.
That said, the timing sucked eggs and ole Danny Boy has a lot to answer for, and as usual played a blinder (sarcasm) in all this. With 2 days to kick off you do this. There is no back up plane here. None! He fucked off to Miami, approved the deal and let poor Ange hanging. That’s an even bigger travesty. He’s who I feel for, along with us long suffering fans. Levy might know how to balance the books and make a profit, but has no understanding or empathy for the fans passion and love of this great club.
We now have to move on and continue to support our club because someday Levy will be gone and all this current squad will be, but we the fans will still be here and proudly wearing the white shirts up and down the high road and screaming COYS
On a final note, I now live in Florida and travelled with my wife and son to see the Shaktar game on Sunday. Watching one of our greatest ever to score 4 that day, in what was now his last game for us, will live long in the memory. Thanks Harry for everything
Now let’s move on and batter Brentford

Accepted he was going over a month ago but the way this has all been (mis)conducted is pathetic.

Been caught with our pants around our ankles once again a laughing stock

Alea iacta est.

Good play by Levy & Co to get around the £100M reported.
Terrible play by Levy & Co to arrive there at the weekend of the kickoff of the season.

There is no way new players (if we sign any) will be able to settle in and make the same impact as the would have with a proper pre season.

Thanks to Harry for all the goals over the years and best of luck to him!

He leaves as our all time top goal scorer. But he’s still second in the PL top scorer list of all time, as well as being a handful of goals behind Greavsie as our top flight top scorer of all time.

He could have crushed both records, and most likely would have ended up with well over 300 PL goals. It’s not totally unrealistic that he returns to the PL in four years, plays into his late thirties for a mid table club and get the remaining 48 goals to become number one. But tbh, I hope we as a club then will be in a place where he doesn’t do that for us.

Bayern Munich with him will now be a real contender for CL glory. And Kane will now - finally - get the winners’ medals he desires in form of close to guaranteed Bundesliga and German cup titles.

Pants around our ankles time is at the end of the transfer window. I've accepted we could well have a strange season ahead, and keeping or losing Kane wouldn't have changed that. Everybody harps on about backing Ange to get the job done and giving him time to do it, but then in the next breath are saying they want success straight away and no excuses. Can't have it both ways. I'm going to see where we are at the end of the month before I declare my verdict on this window.

Well it was going to happen sooner or later. I really hope it works out for him-because it's not guaranteed. Sure domestic league will happen
1 think Bayern have won 32 times from just over 60 Bundesliga seasons

What a privilege. Some of the moments he’s given us, so much pride at times. England Captain, top Spurs scorer, some great goals against the goons… Gotta love him!

Well this has all come out of the blue!? 🙄

Gutted to see this happen but we have to move on and start a new era, as many have said, sods law we'll win a trophy this season!

Onwards and upwards and all that... Just a shame this is 48hours before our new season's KO so timing can't really be much worse but silver lining is we have a couple of weeks to regroup and bring in reinforcements.

In Ange we must trust! #COYS

Like the rest of you, I'm devastated by this news today. Going to bed last night, I still thought that there was still some small hope that Harry might realise the potential under our new manager and decide to stay on rather than move to the best club in a 2 bob league.

But I had also realised a long time ago, that if he wasn't going to extend his contract this summer, then he absolutely had to be sold and preferably to a foreign club.

The fact that Levy has got his 100m for Harry is good news. The main questions now are:

- Has Levy already spent that 100m on Maddison, van de Den and Vicario?
- Does Levy intend to have a minimal net spend at the end of this transfer window?
- Does Levy go big and show ambition by using the cash to make a move for a Vlahovic and then spend the rest on Tapsoba?
- Does he maybe go for more risky signings with potential such as Kyogo / Gift Orban / Elhe Wahi?

Let's see eh.

I think we are all feeling a bit flat today, after losing one of our best ever players.
People giving Levy a lot of flak for selling him, but I don't think he had much choice, and got the best deal available. If Bayern had met the original asking price it would have been done a little while ago.
Where Levy really falls down is in our muddled approach to the team in the last 5 years or so. We were so close to breaking through and winning some significant silverware, which is no mean achievement given the numbers of financially doped clubs around, but instead we had a scattergun approach to signings, dithering, some crazy managerial appointments, a lack of due diligence, and unrealistic valuations of players, both at the buy and selling points. I think Kane is true to his word in that he would have stayed if we had matched his ambitions, but that's gone now.

It might be nostalgia, but I have this funny feeling we will see him back one day, at the tail end of his career a la Sheringham.

Was in the Paxton the day he really announced his arrival with those 2 goals against Woolwich. Will never forget the second goal in particular, with the header looping into the top corner of the goal and the look on his face when it hit the back of the net.

Good luck Harry, and thanks for the memories.

48 more goals to overtake Shearer and adorn himself in an eternity of glory and there he gave it up midway. Of all 1st place standings, he actually ditched the one he has the most probability of achieving. Oh man, I am so heartbroken for him in this instance.

Just two more seasons could be it...... 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️ Why??? Why no one advises him how close he is and the importance of that????

There's only one all-time top scorer in the top division, and there's also only one all-time top scorer in the top division for one club.

I don't think HK would have managed to beat Greavsie for the first of those records, but he was capable of beating Bill 'Dixie' Dean's 310 goals for Everton.

Considering the club's record for last-minute deals, that's worrying. The deadline day deal for Van der Vaart was a case of a player being available unexpectedly and Levy being lucky enough to sign him. Apart from that example, I can't think of any signings worth mentioning.

Ideally would’ve been sorted 3 weeks ago but would a non-negotiable, hard deadline been realistic? Who knows.

He’s left the PL and we’ve got huge money for him. That’s all we can ask for once it became obvious he was off.

And timing-wise, it’s the start of Ange’s era and rather than destabilising the man’s work, he’ll just get on with it - as he says he’s been planning without Kane anyway.

It’s going to be a tough season; there is more competition than ever at the top of the league and we could easily finish anywhere between 3rd and 8th. But it is a new dawn all round so let’s watch Ange build and do his thing; I honestly think he could emulate Poch.
