It's a vote for Gomes, but to be honest if Carlo is selected then I'm more than happy. Both more than capable, but I love what Gomes gives us.

Looks like his dad heard about the poll via his wife, and has now also voted...

It's Cudicini for me all day long. I'm still not convinced with Gomes as he is culpable when he's fit, let alone on the come back trail following a knock. His early season form, affected by injury or not and behind a decidedly lacking-in-confidence defence, left me with a hard-to-heal opinion that he is too eccentric to be fronting up our last line of defence.

Cudicini on the other hand, is in the prime of his career, is proven at this level and speaks good English to marshall the chaps in front of him.

So, in answer, and it may not be what you guys want to read, but it is Cudicini who would be my starter, until injured or drops form.

Ah. It must have been his Brasilian that let him and Gilberto down then with their "After You..." commotion!!!

Speak to any PSV fan, or Dutch fan, and they will tell you that PSV's last 3 titles were won because of Gomes.

So he made a few mistakes at the start, cant think of too many Spurs players covering themselves in glory during that period. Since then he has gone from strength to strength even though he was playing with injuries. Gomes will go on to be one of the best keepers who has graced the PL given time, a run in the side and a manager who believes in him!

If Gomes has been drilled on the training park to catch, not punch (limply in to the six yard box), and Parkes has got him concentrating for ninety minutes, not sixty as is all is required in the Dutch leagues, he'll have half a chance of retaining his shirt but he will have to wrk hard at his game in our premiership to convince me.

If we had obtained Cudicini two years ago he would be rock solid number one.

I think your kinda pissing against the wind here PT as the poll has left no doubt whatsoever who the fans/paying public want as the number 1.....

I'm quite surprised by the large majority that Gomes has got as would have thought it would be a tight poll... Hmmmm very interesting...

Me, I ain't got a clue who to pick so I'm taking the fifth amendment! Plus we've got Keano back so wohoo to whoever's in goal!

I chose Gomes because he's a class act and when fully fit I'm sure he'll do even better. I admire him for riding the media storm - and I admire us for the same reason actually. It's great to have a real quality back-up keeper though.

I daresay the number of saves he makes is down to the relatively ineffective / ever-changing midfield and defence. Hopefully that is a thing of the past now.

Gotta be Gomes, a few mistakes early on, but fantastic since. Don't mind the punching either. In fact, I'd argue that in this day and age your better off with a keeper that punches under pressure rather than tries to catch everything.

But what really seals it for me is that the last time Cudicini got a run in the Chelsea side he was god awful. I just can't be sure he's the keeper he was before Cech's arrival.

So oddly, in my eyes, Gomes gets it partly because I feel I can be more sure of what I'm getting.

When Gomes made mistakes at the beginning of the season it was because he was injured and we had no backup. Poor planning by the way. The press needs to stuff it. He still needs to learn to protect himself (and lookout for his teammates) when he goes up in the mix.

Gomes could have turned the last 2 losses into draws or even slim margin victories. End of story. Sorry CC.

I think they could be pissing into the wind where harry is concerned.

I too am not convinced by Gomes, but Cudicini isn't the keeper he used to be either imo.

Im voting Cudicini, if only for the strange feeling in my gut that i feel safer with Cudicini in goal.

Gomes is simply so much better than Cudicini, height reach athleticism power

I do believe though that HR might be thinking that CC is his No. 1

this might yet cost us relegation - we'll see how tomorrow goes

so far CC hasn't impressed - and I think with Gomes in goal we could have got a point v bolton - wasn't at all happy with CC on any of their goals - I'm not saying any was directly his fault - but the performance had all the dreaded robbo moments - not convincing on crosses, beaten by a long range range - scary memories start coming back
