A very good article but a very sad one, good luck to him, when I think of gazza I just think how lucky I am that he played for spurs.

To me, as a yid beginning his journey in the late 80's/early 90's Gazza ranks alongside Ginola and Ledley as the best yids i have ever seen in the flesh. An absolute idol of mine, i really hope he can stay on the right track this time

I have a soft spot for Gazza. I've been lucky enough to have met him a few times, and he was, as has been said, daft as a brush, but lovely too. He gave me two big hugs and kissed me too, so he's not all bad. :) I really hope he can live a 'normal' life and enjoy the rest of it.

good read. I'm going to see his show next month in stevenage - him and greavsie. Should be good.

i live in stevenage and had no idea they were coming here, my mate has been arranging nights with ex players too and i said he'd be the best one to get

thats a good article feels with me pride and good memories when he speaks of the good times and sadness when he speaks bout recent times

all in all what a legend that guy is

From the interview he seems nearly broke so I imagine (hope) this this is for financial reasons.
He is still one of the best players i have ever seen to wear the Spurs shirt and had more natural talent than most of the current England line-up combined

Good to hear that Gary Mabbutt is still giving him support
but as I know from personal experience alcoholics are very
difficult people to help.
Usually ends in tears or worse.
Good luck Gazza.

Love Gazza, greatest player England's ever had. Hope he can conquer his demons, should have a job for life at Spurs.

Me too, my fav player as a kid, enticed me to spurs. My GF met him in bournemouth either last summer or the summer before can't remember - not long after the Raul Moat thing. It was at a festival down here, she text me a photo with him, but I couldn't face heading down there myself - I didn't want to meet my hero in the state he was in back then, I'd rather remember the good times. After reading that I hope I do bump into him down here now and wish him the best of luck and see if he wants a kickabout!

I don't care what people say, for me he is not just England's greatest ever player, but one of the best of all time. He'll never get that recognition unfortunately but who cares, very few players in history can claim a similar level of talent.

It would have been a magnificent thing to see Hoddle and Gazza play together. If only...
