You do realise that the Celts originate from, in part, Spain? Specifically the Basque region?
I always thought they originated from central Europe, around 5k to 10k years ago, from where they spread to western Europe, including the British Isles and the Iberian peninsula; furthermore that the basques were a complete enigma and that no-one could be sure where they or their language came from. Anyway, a bit of internecine rivalry just spices up the idea! ;)

I'm tempted to delete this. No quotes what so ever. You may as well posted a snippet from someone's blog.

I do think Bale will suffer from 'Little fish big pond' syndrome like Modric has if he moves to Madrid.

I understand the lure of winning La Liga and competing every season in the CL, and to a degree the ridiculous wages he'll get paid. But he only needs to look at players like Huntelaar, VdV, Robinho and countless others to see that moving to Madrid can actually send your career backwards faster that it can send it forwards.

One injury that puts him out for more than 6 months and the next hottest thing in world football will be knocking on the door to take his place and then he'll be fighting, with few regular opportunities, to get back into the team.

I would hope that if we qualify for the CL this season that he would give us one more season to see where we are heading under AVB, especially as FFP should start having a bigger impact soon.

The Celts were originally Germanic tribes that we're spread as far afield as Greece and Turkey. They were nomads who travelled all over Europe, but they originated from Germany (obviously), Gaul (France) and the Basque region of Spain.

I feel like a right geek now!

In what parallel universe were the Celts Germanic?

Anyway, getting back on topic - whilst I would like to believe that that Marca article is purely propaganda, and I take all ITK with more than a pinch of salt, there is a lot of talk of Gareth fancying a move to Madrid in the summer and it won't surprise me entirely if it does I won't be massively surprised if it does happen.

My only hope is that we get CL and Levy can therefore persuade him to stay for another season.

Were we to get c. £45 million for him we should be able to get a decent enough replacement - if we could sign a player like Hazard or Oscar we wouldn't miss Bale too much IMO.

He'll move, eventually. If we get CL this season he won't go yet, though.

One reason he will eventually move is due to the lack of protection he gets from refs in this country, which he will get in Spain or Italy.

When he goes, he'll go with my blessing. He's done brilliantly for us and I've enjoyed watching him, plus we'll get a shedload of cash.

WRONG!
Celts originate from Central Asia.
They then migrated westwards, and some made their way into Iberia, and others into Western Europe and Britain and Ireland.

I couldn't give 2 flying fcuks anymore with all this shite!

Gazza left, Ginola left, Klinsman left, Modric left, Berbatoss left................................Spurs still here!!!!

You're spot on. As long as we can keep a hold of Dempsey and Huddlestone, we'll be fine.

Neg rep the OP, this crap might stop getting posted then
Jeez thanks whatsappin. How can I be responsible for the content? I don't like it any more than you, but if I see something concerning one of our players (and especially when I know there are people on here more knowledgeable about the overseas newspapers etc) I feel people would be interested to read it, just to know what is being said elsewhere. I'm more than happy for people to discredit the article! I know nothing about Marca, but others obviously do. Neg rep the article but don't shoot the messenger!

So we're both right win/win! Unless Ibbz is right and we're both wrong! Unless they got to Asia from Spain in the first place...

bale wont be going anywhere until at least the end of next year his gf atm his having big help off her mum to look after little bale....so i cant see him moving emma and baby off this soon i think he would would be willing to wait a bit for that alone.
He is also very grounded and happy playing and being the big fish it suits him more hes a shy and quiet character i dont think he would fit in at madrid with all the attention and interviews he would need to do.
His girlfriend emma is also very grounded typical welsh lass thats very close to her parents same as gareth they are both seen alot of in cardiff bay so i cant imagine him just uping and moving unless hes taking all of them with him?.
i expect him to stay here until he is atleast 26-27 unless man city come out and splash the water
Welsh people are notorious for getting home sick and being loyal we like our fields of green and hyms

The earliest Celtic and proto Celtic settlements can be found In Urnfield (Germany) and Hallstatt (Austria). They then spread out over most of Europe and out as far as Turkey.

Don't take my word for it though, look it up. I made a point of doing that before I posted.

Might have helped if you'd done the same?

I'd be very surprised if he was still here after next season. Encouraging that he isn't looking to move on though.

Im not sure yet but i really dont think emma would be happy with him moving them to spain its hard to bring up your first kid in a different country where you dont speak the language as well as moving away from your rocks as well. But like we say you never know in football or in life in general
Gareth is a grounded man hes been with emma i think since they were kids. She's; also like him avoids the spot light and hides away most of the time you will never see her in papers truly because most paparazzi dont really know what she looks like or where she is hence theres no pictures of little violet anywhere. I just honestly dont think the way of life in madrid would suit them with them being blazoned over everything shy characters normally dont like that but i do know gareth has came out himself and said he wants to play abroad one day it must be something they have discussed as a family but maybe that was before little violet came along.
