Even if going back to Mason is "embarrassing" I'd have him over Nuno any day of the week based on the simple fact that the games under Mason was infinately more enjoyable compared to this travesty. Who gives a shit if other fans make fun of us?

It’s not simply just to avoid other fans taking the piss ( I’ve had enough of that over the years to develop a thick skin).

It’s that in my view the answer to being an embarrassing circus is never to do something even more embarrassing.

It cements the message to our current players, future players, prospective managers and the wider football world that we really haven’t got a fucking clue what we are doing.

Plus probably means Winks starts every match.

The difference is Adebayor was released from his contract, not sold. The others in your list were on much lower wages.

I don't believe for a second that Adebayor would have left us and his ridiculous salary just because he wasn't playing.

The players we might want rid of now and other reported weekly salaries:

Ndombele £200k
Alli £100k
Bergwijn £73k
Dier £72k
Doherty £65k
Davies £60k
Winks £50k

You might think these are players who care passionately about their careers and will leave just to play regularly. Unless we can find buyers to pay their salaries, they won't leave.

I don’t see why Ndombele on that list when he’s been starting regularly and playing better than most in particular his replacement on Saturday.

Sick of this guy talking like that. He's happy to talk himself up in interviews and shout and point etc but shows no bravery or courage when the game it difficult and we need our midfielders to show for the ball.
To be fair I think he does give his all.

It's just that the quality isn't quite there for how we want to play.

Perfect chance for DL to bring Conte in. Lie to him and tell him he’ll have money to spend in the summer and have him get us Top 4 in the meantime. Then “try” to get his signings only to fall short and he sticks around for another season then leaves.

The players are by far the biggest issue we have, they simply are not as good as they, or even we, think they are. We have seen the same crap since Poch’s last full season. The run to the CL final was lucky and covered what was an otherwise poor season. We have only got worse since then in every department.

I do have sympathy with Nuno, I’m not sure anyone could do a lot with these players, but by G-d he doesn’t help himself. Some of the decisions have been baffling, none more so than selecting Davies yesterday. Had he been merely competent I for one would not have been calling for his head and would have accepted that he needed time.

If anything big is going to happen, it'll probably be in the coming days. Ali Gold is currently on vacation.
