He is equally adept at playing as either a defender or a midfielder. Lejeune joined his current club ahead of the 2009–10 season after spending the previous season with RCO Agde in the Championnat de France amateur.[1][2] He made his professional debut on 18 December 2009 in a league match against Tours. He started and played the entire match in a 4–0 defeat.[3]

Lejeune, 20, currently plays for Istres in the French second tier but has been tracked by a host of top clubs across Europe.
Real were thought to be leading the chase to sign him but reports in France have revealed Tottenham are also in the frame.
Despite being earmarked as a star of the future, Lejeune is still something of an unknown quantity and it is understood he would cost less than £1million.
