Even when Ade is playing crap he still has amazing power, Defoe always had his pace but when Soldado isn't on form he doesn't bring anything to the team..... sadly.

Did you watch this game? He was our best outfield player, and that is even with that miss in mind. Linked up play very well, and without this wanting to sound like a dig, that is something JD just isn't capable of.

Then you clearly aren't watching the games as he has made some excellent throughballs and assists and provided good link up play in his most recent games...

Watched the game and wasn't impressed apart from one flick through, I don't wanna slate him but the truth is his job is to score and give the defence a hard time and he doesn't. Don't get me wrong he wasn't the only player that played badly, however his play hasn't been good enough all season.

Defoe's never had fucking pace. It's the biggest myth in football, just in front of the claim that he's a natural finisher. I mean Jesus Christ how does this stuff get perpetuated?

And how the hell does Soldado not bring anything to the team when he's not on form? He's in the worst form of his life and he was our best outfield player last night.

Defoe has been recorded as one of the fastest players in the Prem, thats just a fact mate. Okay lets tot up what he brings....
Pace.... No, can't pull away from any Centre back whom plays today, except probably Dawson.
Power.... No, gets out muscled too often.
Creates chances.... No as all his kicks and flicks only happen on the half way line. At the start of the year yes I think he created a few but now he is never in the right areas to do so, when he is he under hits the pass.
Finishing.... Yeah if its on the penalty spot he is deadly.

The truth is the guy doesn't seem to be able to do what he did last season, which is a shame but its truth. We paid the money for him for goals and that's what a striker is judge on. Did anyone cry when Bent was sold, no. Because he didn't score enough, sadly it will be the same with Soldado.

That would put him above average in the Prem, but I accept he isn't or wasn't top ten. I was shocked to see Kaboul faster and this might be going back some, but it's fair to say Defoe is faster than Soldado and he can out run some CB. Soldado hasn't and clearly can't.

That would put him above average in the Prem, but I accept he isn't or wasn't top ten. If that was Adebayor, in that exact situation, he would have missed it too. It's hugely unfortunate that it took a bobble.

When the miss is THAT bad, it's nothing to do with skill. You and I could score that without the bobble, it doesn't make us better than Bobby!

Yes it bobbles but I am sorry its harder to miss than to score on that one, just control it and pay back some of the 26 million the club paid. It would be okay if he'd of been scoring before this but in other matches he has been wasteful to say the least.

Okay not one of the fastest maybe I have rose tinted glasses on that one, but he can get away for defenders Soldado can't as we have seen many times. I believe against Swansea he should of ran through on goal but the defender was faster so he checked back and got tackled.

I didn't have to finish watching the video to know why he missed, there were enormous glassless patches well outside of the penalty area, the pitch looked like a freshly plowed potato field.

Ronaldo's miss on the other hand, doesn't surprise me at all.

He's not scoring, we know this, the general rationale is this is a confidence problem, not a poor player problem.

Poor player maybe not, bad finisher and might be sold in the summer... probably. I am not against the guy but if its a confidence it won't go away anytime soon. He was played in the cup against a lower team to get that back and he fucked up. We can't risk using him in the league at the moment as we need to win and Defoe will play the next cup game as a farewell I would of thought. So what do we do? Unless we give up on fourth and try and play him through it he will be sold, as you can't have a 26m squad player.
