There it is! A win in Ukraine for Dnipro, and in the end Spurs are lucky to be going back with just a one-goal deficit.
19:48 HITS THE WOODWORK - Dnipro 1-0 Tottenham
And a charmed life for Spurs again! That should be a goal but Dnipro midfielder Roman Zozulya thumps a header against the post!
19:44 HITS THE WOODWORK - Dnipro 1-0 Tottenham
Spurs make a mess of a corner but it almost pays dividends, Michael Dawson helps the ball back in and Paulinho manages to flick the ball against the base of the post.
From the following corner substitute Harry Kane flicks it on and Nacer Chadli can't quite steer it home.
SUBSTITUTION- Dnipro 1-0 Tottenham
Kane for Saldado
19:37 GOAL - Dnipro 1-0 Tottenham - Yevhen Konoplyanka (Pen 81 mins)
Liverpool target Yevhen Konoplyanka is entrusted with the spot-kick and it is perfect, kissing the base of the post on its way into the net. Unsaveable.
19:36 Yellow Card Vertonghen
19:36 PENALTY TO DNIPRO - Dnipro 0-0 Tottenham

Here is a change for Spurs, as Christian Eriksen comes on in place of Andros Townsend. And he scores within seconds! But no, the flag was up. Offside.
19:11 PENALTY APPEAL - Dnipro 0-0 Tottenham
Another penalty shout, as Dnipro midfielder Roman Zozulya goes down under a challenge from Brad Friedel - but referee Antonio Lahoz is having none of it, booking the Dnipro man for a dive. Friedel pulled out of the challenge but there was some contact.
HALF-TIME - Dnipro 0-0 Tottenham
Bradley Allen, Tottenham academy coach
"Tim Sherwood will be pleased with that. As long as they keep dealing with the runs from deep and start passing the ball slightly better, they will get an away goal here."

Tottenham Hotspur face former boss Juande Ramos and his Dnipro side in the first leg of their Europa League last-32 encounter (kick-off 6pm GMT).

UEFA have confirmed the tie will go ahead as scheduled despite the recent civil unrest in Ukraine, withSpurs issuing a statement on their official website to say a minute's silence will be held before kick-off in recognition of lives lost.

Spurs sailed through the group stage as one of only two teams, along with Red Bull Salzburg, to collect maximum points from their six fixtures.

They also found the target on 15 occasions and conceded just twice, giving them the best goal difference in the competition so far.

More of the same will be demanded by head coach Tim Sherwood as he prepares to make his managerial bow in Europe.

A trip to the Ukraine will provide another stern test of their credentials, but Dnipro's lack of competitive action since the turn of the year could work in Spurs' favour.

Thursday's hosts last took in a fixture with something riding on it when they brought the curtain down on their Group E campaign with a 2-1 defeat away at Fiorentina on December 12.

Ramos - who remains the last man to land a trophy at Tottenham but was relieved of his duties at White Hart Lane back in October 2008 - will be hoping that rustiness is not an issue for his troops at the Dnipro-Arena.

He has enough experience at his disposal to suggest that should not be the case, while those in both camps will be hoping that the civil disorder in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev does not overshadow events on the field.

Tottenham manager Sherwood will be without a host of first-team regulars in midweek.

With their campaign to finish fourth in the Premier League dependant on good league form a number of players will not be risked in the tie with Emmanuel Adebayor, Aaron Lennon, Kyle Walker, Mousa Dembele, Younes Kaboul and Hugo Lloris staying at home.

Sandro (calf), Erik Lamela and Vlad Chiriches (both back) will also be missing with Jermain Defoe (hamstring) absent.

Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka is likely to start and will line up for his first competitive match since a January move to Liverpool broke down.

Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood will rest a number of first-team regulars for their Europa League last-32 first-leg tie against Dnipro in Ukraine.

Emmanuel Adebayor, Aaron Lennon, Kyle Walker, Mousa Dembele, Younes Kaboul and Hugo Lloris are all left out with their Champions League target in mind.

Sandro, Erik Lamela, Vlad Chiriches and Jermain Defoe are also out with injury.

The match is still on despite plans for a day of mourning in Ukraine following the political unrest in Kiev.

Dnipro, based in the city of Dnipropetrovsk, is 220 miles away from Kiev, where police have clashed with anti-government protestors.

Ukraine's president, Viktor Yanukovych, has declared 20 February a day of mourning for the victims of the clashes but Uefa insists Thursday's match will be unaffected.

A spokesman for Europe's governing body said: "The team is there. They have had their press conference.

"As it stands there is no indication it would not go ahead."

Yevhen Konoplyanka, who almost joined Liverpool on transfer deadline day, is set to start for the hosts.

Dnipro boss Juande Ramos, who managed Spurs between 2007 and 2008, believes the winger has been unaffected by thebreakdown of his potential move to Anfield.

The 24-year-old looked set for a move to the Premier League in the final days of the transfer window until negotiations stalled and now looks set for a role against Tottenham on Thursday night.

"It is a normal situation when the market is open and there are rumours about the possible transfers," Ramos said. "Some take place, some do not. They don't have the right to decide to move or not.

"He had a very successful training camp in Spain and he trains a lot, follows all of the directions, tries his best and I'm sure he will do his best in this competition and help us succeed in this round.

"The fact is that players don't concentrate on their individual personalities, they have to bear in mind the success of the whole team and he will do his best to help his team succeed."

I dont know how many fans we are taking over, but i hope they all stay safe

If anyone has any more info please let us know.

Spilno TV Live from Ukraine

Ukraine: 'Deadly' clashes as protests demand parliament vote

Violent clashes have erupted between protesters and police in central Kiev, with Ukrainian opposition sources saying at least three people have died.

Police used rubber bullets and stun grenades to stop thousands of protesters marching on parliament, where politicians had been due to debate constitutional changes.

Crowds also forced their way into the headquarters of the governing party

The changes are aimed at curbing President Viktor Yanukovych's powers.

The opposition had repeatedly warned that failure to act would further inflame mass anti-government protests - and these have reignited after a period of relative calm.

Ukraine's unrest began in November, when Mr Yanukovych backed away from an association and free trade deal with the European Union, and instead agreed to a large loan from Russia.

Russia's foreign ministry said the latest violence was a "direct result of connivance by Western politicians and European structures that have shut their eyes... on the aggressive actions of radical forces", reported Reuters news agency.

Moscow wants Ukraine to join the Russia-led customs union, which also has Belarus and Kazakhstan as members.

The EU and Russia have accused each other of interfering in Ukraine's affairs.

'Doors locked'
Tens of thousands of protesters trying to march on the parliament building were blocked by lines of police vehicles, according to reports from Kiev.

Some ripped up cobblestones to throw at police, and others threw smoke bombs, while police responded with stun and smoke grenades, and rubber bullets.

Protesters attacked the headquarters of President Yanukovych's Party of the Regions, temporarily smashing their way in before being forced out by police, reported 5 Kanal TV.

Opposition MP Lesya Orobets - a member of the Batkivshchyna party - said on her Facebook page that the bodies of three protesters were inside a building close to parliament. A number of medical workers operating in opposition field hospitals gave the same number of dead.

Several people are reported to have been injured, including some 30 protesters, seven interior ministry troops and a news photographer.

Inside parliament, opposition leader Vitaly Klitschko appealed to Mr Yanukovych to take the riot police off the streets to avert further "conflict in society".

Earlier, opposition MPs blocked the parliamentary rostrum in protest after parliamentary staff refused to register their resolution on reinstating the 2004 constitution.

"Our deputies have just returned from the draft law registration section," opposition leader Arseniy Yatsenyuk said, according to Interfax-Ukraine news agency.

"They have just simply locked the doors there on the instructions of [Speaker Volodymyr] Rybak and are refusing even to talk to Ukrainian people's deputies, let alone register the resolution."

Mr Rybak is a member of Mr Yanukovych's ruling Party of Regions.

The opposition has been pushing for weeks for a return to the 2004 constitution, which would mean President Yanukovych losing some of the powers he has gained since his election in 2010.

The changes would mean that parliament - not the president - would appoint the prime minister and most cabinet members, as well as regional governors.

The move could also lead to snap presidential elections - a key demand of the opposition.

MPs who support the president have argued that different proposals on how to return to the previous constitution legitimately have not been thoroughly discussed, and more time is needed to iron out all the differences between the two sides.

In a separate development, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said Moscow would provide Ukraine with a new $2bn (£1.2bn) tranche of loans "this week".

In December, Moscow pledged $15bn to back Ukraine's struggling economy, but so far only $3bn has been transferred.

The Kremlin had hinted it would freeze the loan until a new government acceptable to Moscow was formed after Ukrainian PM Mykola Azarov resigned last month.

On Monday, an amnesty for anti-government protesters in Ukraine came into force after demonstrators ended their occupation of government buildings in Kiev and in the regions.

Protesters had held some of the buildings for more than two months.

But a sprawling tent city remains in Kiev's central square, where some denounced the decision to end the occupations.

Travel advice to Dnipropetrovsk - updated Tuesday, February 18.

It has been widely publicised recently that the political situation in Ukraine has led to many demonstrations; particularly in the city of Kyiv and those fans that are travelling via Kyiv should take extra care. You should avoid all demonstrations and public gatherings as even peaceful protests can be unpredictable.

We are aware that a number of our fans will travel to Dnipropetrovsk via Kyiv and you should take extra care when in public areas and if travelling by train, keep all your belongings together and in sight at all times.

The British Embassy advises that you should carry your Passport with you at all times for ID purposes. Police often carry out passport checks on foreign nationals, but will introduce themselves and produce a document verifying their request. If you are detained for not being able to present your passport, you should ask for an official report.

If you experience any problems when in Dnipropetrovsk, please call the Travel Line – 07917 880445 and we will endeavour to help.

Update – Tuesday February 18, 2014

Given the ongoing situation in Ukraine, we are in contact with the British Embassy and we wish to remind fans planning on travelling to our match against FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk that they should continually check this website – and the Gov.uk website – for updates and travel advice over the course of the next 48 hours.

Protests and demonstrations are occurring in Kiev and many other cities. In Kiev, clashes have resulted in fatalities with reports of live ammunition being fired.

We are due to obtain updated information regarding the situation in Kiev, with specific reference to the train station and airport for travelling fans, on Wednesday morning. We will convey this to supporters via tottenhamhotspur.com as soon as possible.

Read more about the political situation in Ukraine on the Gov.uk website by clicking here and read additional travel advice here.

Update – Monday February 17, 2014

We have received today some important information from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office relating to rail services within the Ukraine at present.

Due to technical and engineering problems, all high speed rail services within the Ukraine are suspended with immediate effect. This suspension was put into place late last week and there is no estimated date where services are scheduled to recommence.

We understand that a number of our supporters travel plans for this match included a transfer from Kiev to Dnipropetrovsk via rail. We have been told that some local trains will still run - supporters using these services are advised to checkhttp://www.uz.gov.ua/en/passengers/timetables/ for further information. Please check ticket validity and timings before travelling.

Should we have any further information regarding this situation, we will pass this on to travelling fans as soon as it is to hand.

General Information:
Dnipropetrovsk is primarily an industrial city of around 1 million people and is now Ukraine’s third largest city, characterised by its mix of architectural styles and a number of Theatres, including an Opera and Museums of interest to tourists. There are also numerous parks, restaurants and Churches. In the heart of the city is Zhovtneva (October) Square, which includes the majestic Cathedral founded by Catherine the Great.

Those fans travelling will find a variety of shops and cafes which cater for all tastes.

Money:

The official currency of Ukraine is the Hryvnia. US Dollars and Euros are the easiest currency to exchange although sterling can be exchanged at a more limited number of sites. Whilst there are a number of currency exchange kiosks you should only use official exchange booths and you will need to present your Passport in order to exchange money. You will be given a receipt which you should retain as you may need to produce this if you wish to exchange money back on departure. ATM’s are also available and credit cards are widely used in the cities. Don’t lose sight of your credit card during transactions.

Local Laws and Customs:
Stadium:

The Dnipro Arena Stadium is located near the centre of the city and is in excellent condition. Spurs fans should make their way to the west side of the Stadium where there is a specific entry gate for away fans, which will lead to section 28. There are no turnstiles and all tickets will be scanned by hand. Welfare facilities are excellent in this section and only Spurs fans may utilise the area. As always, Spurs fans can expect to be held back at the end of the match until such time as the surrounding area has been cleared of home fans – upto half an hour but all facilities will be available during this time. Your tickets will be distributed at the entry point by a member of the THFC Stewarding Team. Tickets have also been sold in this section to Russian Spurs, a fan group who have travelled to our games in Eastern Europe this Season.

As always, please abide by the Stadium rule and regulations. There will be English speaking Stewards and Police in this area and there will be three THFC Travel Stewards to assist if required. The usual prohibited items apply prior to entry and all flags and banners will be checked for appropriate wording. It is common policy and normal ground rules at football stadia in the UK and elsewhere in Europe that all flags of an overtly religious/sectarian/political nature will not be permitted and may be confiscated – please respect this request.

The Stadium can be accessed from the city centre by foot, it is about 10-15 minute walk and mini-buses may also be used. It is recommended that you do not use the bars close to the Stadium as these are frequented by the Dnipro fans.

Do remember to have the correct Travel Insurance prior to travelling.

The Club is rightly proud of good behaviour during previous European travels and we would ask that you uphold this by respecting local amenities and cultures. Please do not place flags on local statues or historic monuments, including architecture as this may offend local inhabitants.

Finally, remember that you are an ambassador of the Club and we would respectfully request that you behave accordingly throughout the entirety of your visit.

Are the squad there already or where they due to set off today?

I would have thought an early flight or traveled already so they can get a training session in today.

Not seen any tweets from any of the players

Get in, and get out straight after the game.

It's probably best for us to have the game played, as we've a fairly soft Prem fixture this weekend.
