I like any derby where our rivals are taking points off each other.

I think that's true about the NLD.

Much as nobody would admit it, I think there's a certain amount of respect between the two clubs, particularly as they are now the top two without ludicrous oil investment.

I certainly hate West Ham and Chelsea more than them.

Its abit tame fan wise, these days. Need some time apart to make it special again. They can go down for instance.

I guess Liverpool v Utd isn't really a derby. Often the matches are dull anyway.

Always enjoyed the Sundelrand v Newcastle games. Seem to usually have a lot of goals and both teams only have that match to play for outside of surviving relegation so they really go for it.

Went to Ajax - Feyenoord a number of years back. I must say there wasn't particularly a lot of love between those two.

Celtic v Rangers is the ultimate derby, goes beyond football, the hatred they have for one another on that day is nothing you could ever imagine and that could be brother v brother etc etc. Tyrone V Armagh is another.

I went up to Glasgow for the derby once. Didn't have a ticket, watched it in a Celtic pub near the ground. Celtic lost. Was standing outside the pub after the game when a coach load of Rangers fans came by going absolutely mental when they saw us. They were obviously aware the pub was on their route home. As were most of the Celtic fans who stayed in the pub after the game. Not this particular tourist though...

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Yeah the geordies and mackems get really wound up for it. I can't imagine anything topping the Rangers v Celtic derby though as obviously the sectarian situation is an explosive element.

Got to say that I wouldn't fancy sticking around in that scenario.

Watching an old video of Birmingham city fans taking a villa coffin though town, got me thinking. What derby do you lot look foreword to watching? Villa vs Birmingham is pretty tasty and I like Birmingham's old school feel to their ground (never been but the impression I get from tv). Liverpool Everton sticks in my mind as being entertaining even if the hate isn't that strong. Celtic Rangers is a decent watch.

I came in here to say any of the midlands derbys, because it guarantees an afternoon of hilarious tv with all them accents, but personally, i find the Galatasaray/Fenerbache rivalry fascinating.

I'm a big fan of Real/Atletico, simply because the local rivalry added to the fact that both sides are filled with a fabulous mix of cynical cheats and fouling bastards means that it's almost always a bloodbath.

Barca/Madrid is similar to a point, and arguably overtook it during the Mourinho/Guardiola era. It's always a fascinating watch - usually there's a terse five minutes or so until the first bad foul (almost always by Pepe), then all bets are off and it's mayhem. The commentators always say "we don't like to see this", but they are bang wrong. It's fucking fantastic.

Can't stand all the theatrics tbh, ruins what should be amazing matches.
I'd take Ipswich vs Norwich (aka the six finger Derby, aka el Crapico) over those diving twats any day of the week.

To be honest I diddnt really consider the foteign derbies. Turkish ones are cool but I think I prefer the venomous British Derby atmosphere to the ultra monotonous drumming.

If we ignore our games them it would probably be Liverpool and Everton.

Genoa v Sampdoria is good because they share a stadium too so there's that added spark to it they both feel at home

i guess same with Inter & Milan but never been

I was at the Partizan Red Star derby a month ago for the first time and it was amazing and I enjoyed it very much.

Friend who is a united fan went to an old firm derby at celtics ground when O'Neill was in charge and they had a good team.

Said the atmosphere was incredible.

in the 90's when Italian football was good I would have loved to have gone to a Milan derby.

The best atmosphere I've ever been to in a Derby match was the Rome derby

I have cousins from Rome, the elder (and all the family traditionally) supports Roma but the younger became a Lazio fan with his friend

The younger one is the real football fan and he and his friends are season ticket holders with Lazio, I have been to quite a few games there most the stadium is more than half empty but the derby was unreal in terms of crowd and atmosphere

Growing up I used to go to the huge West London derby if Spurs weren't playing the same day.....Brentford vs Fulham

I've been to West Midlands derbys like Villa vs Birmingham or Villa vs WBA when I lived in Birmingham for my degree

I suppose I keep an eye on Barca vs Madrid - does that count as a derby? or just a big match between the two most successful teams?

From watching on of those Danny Dyer type football shows it seems one of the most intense derby games is against in Poland between the two Cracovia and Wisla

The real football factories? Some of those make the English mobs look like a slap fight in a playground!
