Watching an old video of Birmingham city fans taking a villa coffin though town, got me thinking. What derby do you lot look foreword to watching? Villa vs Birmingham is pretty tasty and I like Birmingham's old school feel to their ground (never been but the impression I get from tv). Liverpool Everton sticks in my mind as being entertaining even if the hate isn't that strong. Celtic Rangers is a decent watch.

I used to love watching Boca V River Plate years ago when they used to show South american footy at about 4am. Crazy games.

It's probably the North London derbies from 2018-2037. Convert the old digital recordings into immersive neural 'plants and see for yourself. An unbroken run of victories made no difference to the ear-blistering venom the 17,000 denizens of the "Cock End" directed at a dizzying succession of Arsenal managers. I mean, they couldn't all have been paedophiles.

To watch- NLD even though, for me, they're the most nervewracking games of the season.
To actually go to- Old Firm. I went to one at Ibrox a few years back, and I have never felt such an atmosphere anywhere in my life. It's so hard to describe, but if anyone ever gets the chance to go...you really should.

One nice thing about the NLD is that we manage hatred with nary a hint of sectarianism.

United v Liverpool always used to have a good level of spice and violence in it which is always good in a derby.

Of course now Mourinho is involved it's the most boring one of the lot, but when he goes back to Chelsea in a couple of years it'll be back to being good.

Newcastle v Sunderland also often produces a good game.

I've agreed with your post, but to be honest I don't think there's actually that much hate in the NLD (long time since I've been to one so it might have changed, but it's always been more of a footballing rivalry than a true hate thing).

Rangers-Celtic is ridiculous. You hear of "electric atmospheres", but that match goes way beyond it. You can practically feel the tension like it's a solid thing, and you spend 2 hours tingling and shaking. It really is something else - way more than a football match. There's no hatred like religious hatred, eh.

I think that's true about the NLD.

Much as nobody would admit it, I think there's a certain amount of respect between the two clubs, particularly as they are now the top two without ludicrous oil investment.

I certainly hate West Ham and Chelsea more than them.

Totally agree, as a Spurs fan the NLD can't be topped for personal interest but having been to the old firm Derby (at parkhead) I don't think anything comes close in terms of pure noise and rivalry (for rivalry read hatred)-loved it.
