Wouldn't be at all surprised if Paratici was sniffing around Dembele or Jovic. Umtiti is just too injury prone for me though.

Personally, I wouldn't want him after his racist tirade against those Japanese hotel workers and insincere apology for it. I hate this snowflake/woke era but, in this case, I just can’t look past the person’s character to enjoy what they might bring to us on the pitch.

Racist tirade ...FFS. Do you know what tirade means? He made insulting/inappropriate comments which I wouldn't even say were racist. He insulted how ugly the people in the room were and said they had a 'backwards language' (borderline) but no mention on skin colour, creed , no vulgar impressions etc. I guarantee someone on your family or friendship group has said worse. Snowflake.

I will always hate Dembele since he costed us the chance of playing a CL final against Barcelona (and we ended up playing against Liverpool instead). He's even worse than Bergwjing at missing easy scoring chances.

Considering Ousmane Dembele makes Umtiti look fit and healthy, and Jovic is just a serbian Vincent Janssen, he'd have to be sniffing around some strong substances before he even went near them :cautious:

It’s kind of ironic you questioning my grasp of the English language when you don’t seem to be proficient in it yourself. Here’s a reputable definition of ‘racism’ from Lexico:
Prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalised.

I’ve put the important words in bold to make it easier for you. Calling someone’s language ‘backwards, when the language is intrinsically linked to their ethnic group as is the case here, is clearly racist by that above standard. Not “borderline” at all.

He also criticises their inability to fix his problem with the hotel TV in a way as to mock the perception that Japan is technologically advanced in comparison to most other countries. Sure Japan is widely recognised as a technology Mecca, but what he’s saying here is that that must be bullshit because these men can’t fix his technological problem - a ridiculous implication. By his logic, every Japanese person should have an innate ability to fix the problem he has with his hotel TV. Only a racist would imply or make such a sweeping generalisation.

He thinks he’s been clever with the ‘ugly faces’ comment but people who aren’t idiots know exactly what he was implying given the tone of the rest of his bullshit.

At the end of the day, if the whole episode wasn’t racist then why did FCB issue a public apology specifically to Japanese and East Asian fans for the behaviour? And why did Konami, a Japanese company, drop Griezmann as one of their brand ambassadors? What reason would other Japanese people, or indeed other East Asian people, have to be offended if it wasn’t for them being connected by ethnic and racial group? So, while you think it wasn’t racist, you’re actually wrong.

(And I ain’t a fucking snowflake. My banter threshold is higher than the majority of people these days and I’m far from PC, but I’m also not a scummy person who is okay with unnecessary racism being directed to people just trying to help and do their job.)

My point about you being a snowflake is how much you insist you're not a snowflake, yet you are overreacting saying you wouldn't want him at the club based on one incident. (Not that he's coming anyway) The guy made a mistake and apologised for being insulting, he said its language he would have used no matter who was in the room , he has no history of racism so I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. Any specific apologies to the Asian community would have been advised by his PR team as a precaution. Can I ask if you still are able to watch spurs without sobbing , knowing Aurier made homophobic comments about his ex manager? ?
Enjoy trying to get your likes for being a Super PC Saint.

Fuck outta here you literally said that what Dembele said wasn’t racist ? So I wasn’t overreacting at all - just trying to educate you with complete clarity on why what you said was wrong, but you’re obviously not gonna admit that because you are still are trying to excuse what he said and believe his apology was sincere when it was really just an attempt at self-preservation. The old proverb ‘you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink' comes to mind tbh.

You can search my past posts to see if I said anything on Aurier’s homophobic comments. Spoiler: I haven’t, so to answer your question I don’t start “sobbing” watching Spurs/Aurier play and I’m not a snowflake. (Aside from Tanganga for his defensive qualities, Aurier is our best RB anyway so I’ll be damned if I criticise him knowing that the alternative is Matt Doherty :D).
