As a traditionally owned and run jewish interest I could not see them easily selling to a middle east/Arab consortium. If we are up for sale it'll be a russian or american Tycoon and probably a nice jewish boy too like comrade Abrahmovic

Is this the same consortium that bid for Liverpool? i.e. DICs (no pun intended)

On a completely diff subject, It'll be interesting to see Moslems controlling our traditionally Jewish club.

Just picture this scenario: We wake up one morning to hear the club announce Berbatov's transfer to arch-rivals Le Arse for free, in retaliation to Israel killing innocent palestinians.

levy AND LEWIS are doing a great job. But it depends of Lewis's financial standing, he may want to re-couperate his losses

I hate our club being associated with any religion. Religion has no place in football imo.

I really hope this is just usual papertalk bullshit. Levy and ENIC are doing a great job and I really don't want that my beloved club would be owned by some ***** who don't really love football and don't know anything about English football. They just want to own an English club, because it is "fun" and a must among billionaires these days. They just mess things up like Thaksin or even Abramovich.

It was in the Mirror so it is.

In which case he won't sell now for £250m.

I won't say losing £400m is peanuts to Lewis, it's a right slap in the face but no more than that.

PS. General Levy- Football is my religion.

Levy's strategy is simple, spend heavilly on players to secure Champions League football, which then increases value of club closer to his £400m valuation and makes it more attractive to potential suitor. Don't spend money on ground improvements, as this will wipe away most of the profit between his £90m investment so far and his sell price of £400m.

He, Enic and Joe Lewis can walk away with a potential combined profit of close to £300m. If you were in Levy's shoes you would do the same.

The consequencies of his plan is as follows

1. New buyer will have to invest £400m to buy club
2. New Buyer will have to invest £100m - £300m to improve stadium or move
3. Who is either foolish or rich enough to take this risk?
4. We could have a potential Liverpool on our hands, where a proposed suitor has borrowed monies to buy club, which then has a detrimental effect on the funds available to compete with the top clubs when recruiting the best talent.

Liverpool have shelved stadium development due to lack of funds. Torres was bought before all the infighting, which has resulted due to lack of funds.
Benitez is having to sell Alonso, Riise, Crouch and Pennant to raise funds for the coming seasons transfer kitty. Well publised that he has to sell to buy, why, LACK OF FUNDS

Check out what a I posted a while back:

"Now if you were to be really, really, really cynical we are setting ourselves up for a cheap buyout due to us not being quite the instant money making team that was predicted a year ago. But that is a WHOLE other conspiracy theory involving cheaper shares etc to buyout. Eek Hence the infatuation with young players/lack of instant impact which the buyer (of the cheap shares) will reap rewards down the line. But even for me that is cynical and could neeever be the case right?"

You have to trust ole Gibbsy.

Devon Spur on COYS has a good write-up on there about this, and it is just a made-up story. When we sell it would be twice the Mirror story price.
