Just seen this on Facebook.

After Conte's arrogance say the supporters have no patience, I remembered Bill Nicholson’s quote :

We must always consider our supporters,
for without them there would be no professional football.
It would be better to have more fans watching football the way they like it played,
rather than have a few fans watching football the way we would like it played."

It's a wonderful concept - but can you imagine this forum and the stadium if we were to be 10th playing an attacking brand of football?

You're aluding that we can't play attacking football and be successful. Funny because every recently successful club plays attacking football.

It's been a strange season all round. A plethora of games prior to a winter world cup break. City, Liverpool and Chelsea performing worse than last season (bindippers beat Utd 7-0 and 6 days later lose at Bournemouth - and you think we are inconsistent).

Of the so called top 6 only Utd & Woolwich are performing better.

After 27 games last season we were 5th on 48 points with a +8 GD.
This season were are 4th with 48 points and a +12 GD, so marginally better (sack the manager!!!)

Interesting. Last year we had Nuno for the first ten games though.

No we look at the league table.
If we are basing it purely on the league table we wouldn’t have had the meltdown over the past few days. As we’re still in the same position (although slightly more protected from the scousers).

I don’t think the league table position is what’s caused the uproar about Conte in the past few weeks. It’s to do with his disdain for the cups, our form and his lack of willingness to commit.

Just got home from the game, good to at least see Conte bring abit of passion on the side line with him today, we well deserved the win today but don’t forget it was against an atrocious Forest team. Next two game’s absolutely massive

add, he also has a better squad this year, refuses to play players because they are "club signings". Football has been turgid 99.9% of time even when we win.

Not sure this is saying quite what you think it is. Another way of looking at it is that a season of just Conte with a Conte pre-season and more Conte players in the squad is barely any better than a mix of Conte and Nuno.

So we've got the same points for about 150m + 15m a year for Conte. Does that seem reasonable to you?

The thing is that within the next year or two, the top four spots in the league will go to teams trying to win the league. If we don't invest to a similar level/sort our shit out, then Thursday nights in the Europa League will be the best we can hope for.

A single game a week conte is massively different than 2 a week. Was somewhat impressed with the performance today. Players looked up for it today aswell, Southampton is the game for me where we stick or twist, we’ve lost the edge away from home recently, if we can win that then I say stick till the end of the season, shake hands and part ways.

Hopefully he’s motivated to get back to back top 4s so he can almost put 2 fingers up at the club when he leaves and say ‘I did what was asked of me’. Sort of like when he won the FA Cup at the end of his second season at Chelsea. He still needs to go in the summer but it’s in both our interests to get top 4.

I’d bet he’s got a clause in his contract where he gets a nice chunky bonus if we get top 4, too.
