First game away - with a shocking end to last season still on our minds - to a pumped up Everton with a new manager; we gifted them a goal and ended up pushing them back into their shells, acting like Everton of old, and, embarrassingly, wasting time to see the game out a draw.

Was imperative we didn't lose that and actually should have won it.

Poch and Levy have a few things to contemplate because we cannot rely so heavily on Dembele going forward...we need proper back-up for him.

Need to look for a top quality cm if we're gonna complete unless Poch thinks Dembele can realistic play over 40 games

Cause wan and Dier is just a terrible nothing combo. 2 guys sitting infront of the back 4 not moving not playing forward passes

Stekelenberg kept them in it in the second half but I agree with the other posts, We were very poor in the first half but, although improved in the 2nd, we were far far from sparkling today. Jansen looked very good and made a real difference. Dele and Kane rusty. Looking forward to watching Lamela this season but wish we didn't have to rely so much on our full backs to influence our attacks. 6/7 out of 10.

We looked rusty. Alli, Eriksen and even Rose had below par games I thought.

Lots of positives though and we'll grow into the season. Nothing really to worry about at all (aside from Lloris' injury).

People need to get over the fact Eriksen has a casual strolling style. He does it when he's playing well, and today when not so well. It's no biggie.

Think Janssen had a great substitute. Got himself in great positions, involved and ran like his life depended on it. Won't see me complain if Janssen get a start ahead of Kane next match based on form

I'm not gutted considering the way we started but still disappointed not to have beaten a very mediocre Everton.

Simply reinforces what many of us said before the game: we need another creative player. There is a real dearth of options off the bench.

It really is a good result on paper, but when you look at the Everton side we just played, you'd say we should really have won that comfortably.

Another GLARING issue for me. THAT BENCH.

Do NOT tell me Poch is happy with the youngsters. There was a reason none of them were brought on at the end. Anybody saying our squad depth is fine is being naive.

It was a good end to the game with lots of intent and purpose which was missing before Lamela's goal and for some time after too.

I really don't think Erikson and Alli should be as nailed on to start every week as they are. Excellent talents and stats wise they will produce but they go missing in games and when that happens you need that variety to mix it up. And you need that competition to push everyone on to up their game.
