Apologies if this has appeared before but I just saw this at the guardian and thought it was worth posting.
There was a Iraklis player in the 70s and 80s called Vassilis Hatzipanagis who was widely considered to be in the class of Pele and Maradona.
If you check his wikipedia page you can see the various reasons why he didn't go on to great things. It seems he was relatively well known, named in the 'World XI' etc. but have any of you ever heard of him?
