If he is still here on Saturday I swear to god....

He hasn't been included in one squad , the manager clearly doesn't want him, if he won't play what is the point in keeping him out of principle?

I'd be very surprised if we're getting in a new CB.

Our existing non-HG CBs are on expiring contracts. Getting in a new non-HG one would be committing to 3 non-HG slots used up on CBs for medium term.

Think it was Tosin or bust (with a slight possible Maguire curveball option)

Because both Sanchez and Tanganga are probably going and we can't afford to lose all 3 from the squad? That seems to be a really obvious answer, it's not really a mystery?

Thing is Eric hasn't been in a squad which tells me Ange thinks he isn't at all suitable so keeping him is ridiculous.

From a distance Dier and Hugo situations remind me of Aurier/Doherty where there is a departure by mutual consent tomorrow night.

Surely we aren't getting money in the next 36 hours? May as well get him off the books with a small loan fee
It may be that we are still pursuing deals to sell other players too and if we let Dier go on loan, that would leave us with 3 senior CBs. Whilst I am in favour of promoted a Dorrington or Phillips, we would likely need to spend close to 20/30m to bring in a decent backup. I imagine that is how those conversations are going

I just don’t see us selling both Sanchez & Dier, but at the min Sanchez looks more likely to leave, which is baffling.

I don't understand why we wouldn't be keen to loan him?

We'd get his wages covered for a season and then he can leave for free.

Only thing I can think of - not that I believe it myself - is that there's a faint hope we can shift him to the Saudis given their window closes later than ours.

Or that we can use him in a makeweight for tosin or similar. Again I don't think we will but maybe that's the logic

I sure hope we have a good plan for how we're going to shift him, because otherwise I don't see the point in turning down loans. We desperately need players out and we're at the point in the window where we can't always be picky. He's on big wages and at best 5th choice, so no sense in not getting him out and getting a little money covered.

Dier digging his heels in after not being involved in a match day squad is just bizarre tbh
