Come back from injury, Eric, all is forgiven.

Nobody competently organising the back line has cost us almost every goal since he's been out. He's absolutely key to our hopes for the rest of the season, imo.

Our back line is in shambles without Dier. Amazing what you notice without him. He is immense and we miss his long balls and distribution from the back

I wouldn't say its a shambles, but it has a glaring weakness, that without a ball playing CB, any team that presses us aggressively, is going to win

Especially if we are equally pressing them, as soon as they get ball.

Against slower and older teams, we wont notice the difference, against Chelsea they were so aggressive, they had their best performance of the season against us twice and did us tactically

lol he gets beat in the air just as much as the others. Nobody seems to have a leap in them apart from Lucas!

I don't so much mean that he's not in the box for the couple of corners, but more that we could have prevented the number of corners we're subjecting ourselves to if it was him in the middle in the first place.

Any idea when he'll be back? Thought I'd read that he was back in training?

Unfortunately it seems him and Romero not back until after the break.

With our full defence I’d really fancy us against Chelsea on Sunday but without them it’s going to be really tough

I agree... but I think it is because of Conte and his system... first of all it is obvious how much more confidence and hard work Conte installs in his team. And Dier is a type that never gives up... he is back for good now. Respect... now he plays in a system where he can be like a deep lying quarterback... and he has two other CBs around him. So he is not that exposed to direct running duels in large spaces and helping out the backs... there is more protection from midfield as well... plus he can focus on being a leader... when we play 4 at the back I don't think it suits Dier at all... it's the same with Sanchez...

Dier should in my eyes be the vice-captain, he has really stood out to me as a very genuine person who does not give up during rough spells (which he has had) Really spot-on analysis in the all or nothing documentary when they said that Eric thrives during battle when Mourinho first joined

Really close to changing my profile pic from the player that got me into supporting Tottenham (hudds) to Eric now
