Surprised there's no mention of his podcast interview with The High Performance lads. Only just started but it's worth a listen.

Just finished listening to it and was very enjoyable. Can see why all the managers he's played under for us love him, always prepared to work hard and has a great mentality.

Very glad to hear he doesn't regret the incident with his brother and would do it again tomorrow, family comes first in my book so was good to hear the shares similar views.

Lot of speculation he won't play tomorrow. If he has tested positive am hoping it's a false reading and he'll be clear tomorrow

We missed his composure and his ability to organise that defence. I genuinely dont think we would have conceded had he started today. We just didnt know what to do with the ball from our backline and across it.

Hope to God he has mild symptoms and his isolation ends this weekend.

We missed him.

Link to the podcast if not seen it. A good watch although I find Humphrey very condescending and self righteous. But some might enjoy the other content.

Not sure what his options were. I'm sure if Romero was available he would be moved central as he's better on the ball than Sanchez. However we don't have anyone else like Dier so will always be a loss.

Thought i'd just pop in and give it 10 minutes
and stayed for the full hour.
Very interesting insights.
' stood up very well to the sustained
and quite difficult questioning

He has average ability as a footballer but he has a clear mind and a strong personality.
I like him. Guys like that will always have a place in this squad.

I think he is definitely is above average.

This season he has been (along with Skipp and lloris) the most consistent performer in the team and he brings a calmness to the defence that none of our other defenders show.

Since José has changed him to CB he has had a few bad games, but he is now starting to settle. I actually think in a year or so he will be recognised as our leader.

He talks about Jan vertonghen in the video but I see more similarities to Toby, but more of a leader.

People talk about captain material, I think he is perhaps the one outfield player that should be captain.

I agree with you that he has good mental qualities. He seems calm, performs under pressure and reads the game well. However I still think he has average ability by PL standards. His technical and physical qualities are ok, not outstanding. In contrast, someone like Declan Rice clearly has above average ability. I'm putting this in just for illustrative purposes.

Having said that this is to be expected; we are an average team propped up by 2 world-class players, which I dont think is such a bad thing anyway. We can defintely have more players like Dier; someone who plays for the team and can perform in adversity. Evern average players can deliver good consistent performances when they have the right mind set.

Conte on missing players

Eric Dier, yeah [an injury], but I hope nothing serious and I hope so about Sergio Reguilon, he was a bit tired and we preferred not to use him

Id definitely say above average - average is slightly harsh. Just think he has never settled in one position and played there. Think the middle of a back three is great,.

You mention personality and youre right, his composure at the back and his marshalling i think is underrated.... see the chelscum game as evidence of when he wasnt there...

Id rather have his personality and 'average' ability than someone like Ndombele who is basically a knob.

Dont think average is harsh. Most of our players are average PL standard. Average in PL is a big deal in itself.

I wouldn't say NDom is a knob, although yes I agree with the sentiment of what you said. My main issue with Ndom is that he doesn't fufil his CM responsibilities when the going gets tough. I think this is what Conte means when he says he's not a team player. You are going to be playing better teams/players than you regulalry as a pro and the least bit you can do is to suffer with your team-mates and do the best for your team, instead of disappearing to avoid the risk of imploding.
