Not about QSI but a question about investment more generally: How does it actually work? Would the investor be purchasing some of ENIC's shares? If so, how would that help the club as opposed to just helping ENIC? On the other hand if the money goes into the club and not ENIC then does that mean new shares are actually being created rather than ENIC's shares simply being purchased?

That's a good question. I'm certainly no expert but I think both scenarios could happen. You'd hope QSI would want investment in the team though as they like to be associated with big names and winning.

I was thinking the same thing so out of interest I did a (very quick) google............Their money and ownership/investment is literally everywhere, from property in almost every big city and town in England (even fucking Runcorn) to Barclays bank, Sainsburys and Harrods. Use Heathrow airport and you're a customer. If you live in an area serviced by Severn Trent Water, there they are. It's almost impossible not to participate.
Well that’s that then. I refuse to drink water from now on.

The "war chest" in the summer was just a way to increase ENIC's shares in the club, yes?

Imagine this. QSI buys a <30% stake in the club. Every window, they use the same mechanism that ENIC used to inject cash into the club & gradually increase their own stake over a period of years...

Would you prefer spurs to be bought be QSI or KSI? ?

We can, publicly, get on our high horses as much as we like. The brute honesty of the matter is, if Arsenal had links to a Qatar (even a minority investment) I'd be dreading it.

We've been harping on about City and Chelsea for years, but the reality is, it's hardly a stick to hit them with. Whilst they sip champagne from the trophies they won, they don't really listen or care about us bemoaning where the money to fund their success has come from.

So if the Qataris are going to invest in a PL club, even if we say no, they will end up in another club. So why not just take the money, the potential on-field success, and potentially see us actually achieving some success in our lifetime?

Anyone who is a billionaire has some skeletons in the closet as to how they made it. Google, people will moan about their data. Amazon, the same. Any other individual, someone will find something on them, which is shady.

So I repeat, I'm all for investment in the Club, if it actually will lead to some investment where we need it: on that obsolete squad.

I'm going to be totally honest and say I'm all for it if it means we can spend at the same level as the big boys - although I may have some misgivings about the source of the money, at the end of the day I don't really give a toss if it means success on the pitch. I'll let other people get upset about it.

We want Levy in, say we want Levy in :cautious:

Or maybe we should just sell out and rename the stadium "fuck it"

Everyone entitled to their opinion but I stand by what I say. There is no way an Arab state wants fans chanting Yids on TV. Some hatred runs deeper than football
They’ll just start banning people who do that though. They aren’t the type of regime to let the little people dictate what they do.

Wonder what they'll make of the big flag in the corner of our stadium

It's a tough choice, we all want our club to be successful, to enjoy the fruits of the wealth this kind of investments could bring. But do I want my club to associated with the kind of regime that has such appalling human rights records? Especially a club with such close ties to the Jewish community which itself was a victim not too many years ago of a regime that sort to oppress and segregate and control.

I think not, its just not for me, the 'if you can't beat' em, join 'em' argument just doesn't wash with me.
After 60 yrs as a fan that would be the end for me. Unlike the 99% for me winning a trophy is not worth selling out.

But why would a minority shareholder put any significant amount into improving the team? Although im sure they will bring money to the general table, surely it will still be down to the majority shareholder to provide player funds? TBH im no expert in this field but im just trying to figure out how exactly this would logically benefit the team beyond potential marketing deals and off pitch infrastructure etc.

I guess he is only hearing from his end but Ben Jacobs with ‘’multiple sources’’ is quite something to compare to too. BEN probably should have said ‘’heard nothing my end’’.
It's naive in the extreme that outside investment has not been discussed at the very least.

Read a genuine news article earlier today my time in Australia. Of course now i cant find the fecking thing. But it was a genuine article.
Well as has been pointed out by @spursfan77 the accounts don’t need to be in till the end of June. So not sure it’s really a valid criticism to accuse him of hiding them in the second week of January.
