True but perhaps they might sell? (praying hands)ENIC will never ever change their way they run the club! Let us just accept that please. I can’t see it in my lifetime

Miss the Redknapp days, we had such an exciting team with some players the fans really loved!Surprised levy didn't buy lord Nelson as he was cheap
Hard to believe this time last year everyone was looking forward to the new stadium and progressing in the CL although our league form was wank, only to find a year later we have gone backwards and the place is toxic.Miss the Redknapp days, we had such an exciting team with some players the fans really loved!
Assou-Ekotto, King, Bale, Modric, Parker, VDV, Lennon, Crouch, Keane, Defoe. So many of them would get in our current side, not too many would've got in our team under Poch but shows how far backwards we've now gone also we just have so few players currently that the fans connect with and enjoy, these were golden times under Harry and then Poch.
Great vid, thanks for sharing.
Its astonishing really how quickly its happened mate isn't it, really have to pinch myself.Hard to believe this time last year everyone was looking forward to the new stadium and progressing in the CL although our league form was wank, only to find a year later we have gone backwards and the place is toxic.
They don't need my help to do that, Lighty.
Why is it astonishing? Why it so surprising that a sports team can go on a losing streak. We have watched all the rest of the top 6 teams do it over the past decade so why is it astonishing about us?Its astonishing really how quickly its happened mate isn't it, really have to pinch myself.
I was there at the CL final and was unbelievably gutted but I thought right we've built up to that level, we've finally now build the stadium lets open the purse strings a bit, improve our weaknesses like Liverpool did after they got to the CL final and lost and then lets really push on for something special under Poch 1st season in the new stadium. Couldn't have ever thought it would go so wrong so quickly
Its negligence simple as that. Why is it astonishing? Why it so surprising that a sports team can go on a losing streak. We have watched all the rest of the top 6 teams do it over the past decade so why is it astonishing about us?
I feel that a lot of people forget that it wasn't too long ago we were looking at the fixture schedule and trying to calculate how many points we would need to squeak into the Europa league. Surely nobody can have a reasonable expectation that our progress should be constant every single year? How on earth would that be realistic?
It's truly depressing reading this thread. People throwing around some absolute nonsense whilst being so sure they are right. It makes me think that had we won the CL last year those same people wouldn't have enjoyed it. I wonder how you would have felt being there?
You're the one person I think in the last few pages who has had a bit of acceptance of an alternate view which is good. But if you read your own posts can you see the bias? That everything that has gone well has been luck, everything that has gone badly is because of the owners. Do you genuinely believe that to be true?
I have historically been an ENIC/Levy supporter. Mistakes have been made along the way but overall we have improved in a way that allows continuity.
But I do have my doubts as to whether they are the right people to take us forward from where we are now. ENIC have always run the club in a pragmatic way but also very progressive. We don't overspend but do a lot to increase our turnover so spending can continually increase.
People talk about Leeds a lot but for me Villa is the better example. Gross financial mismanagement but in O'Neill they had a manager who could get them short term results. Once they had to cut back the manager wanted more funds, didn't get it and quit. Not saying for a second that O'Neill didn't have responsiblity for this but the way the club had been run for a long time meant they were going to have to cut back their spending.
The last two seasons of the stadium build were a disaster transfer wise. TBH transfers, Son and Alli aside, throughout the Poch era were poor.
I have been encouraged by our transfers in the last two windows and hope Jose is the man to turn us into winners. But putting a team together is not going to happen overnight. I give ENIC two more seasons. If transfers and spending don't improve in this time period then I'll accept their time is done.
thats kinda nonsense. Jan probably and Davies. Toby's got at least a year or two left in him. Lloris is good enough to keep. the rest are under 30.No we really do. Half these players are done.

It says a lot to me that this is all the answer you have. I'm a tad surprised if I'm honest, you had made some reasonable points (I thought) previously. I genuinely hope you are never victim to any actual negligence. Its negligence simple as that.
You understand that phrase is intended as a cautionary one? It's very easy to be critical of our current situation and hope for a change, but a change isn't always going to be for the better. How many times does it have to be said that most ENIC outers appreciate what he's done but just think the grass will be greener on the other side. ENIC will most of the time have us there or thereabouts because that aligns with their other interests but we'll never win consistently with them because it's simply just not their primary objective no matter what they might say to THST. If it was then they'd have made sure they'd done everything in their power to back their coaches and listen to the footballing experts.
Seriously what is the fucking point if we're not going to win anything? What is the point?
Oddly I think this is true. I've seen the question "how long with the BSODL tolerate not winning" but I think there's a mirror question as well; "how much winning is enough winning". God knows what the answers would be!a pointless argument really, even if we won a trophy every season for the next 10 years they would still blame Levy for us not winning 2.

Nonsense and you know it. One (third rate) trophy in two decades. Anything more and we’d be ecstatic..
The point i'm trying to make is. We might as well be Villa, Everton, Newcastle. It makes no difference. It says a lot to me that this is all the answer you have. I'm a tad surprised if I'm honest, you had made some reasonable points (I thought) previously. I genuinely hope you are never victim to any actual negligence.

I agree with you about what is the point, although I would probably direct it at this general conversation! It's just nonsense phrases parroted around with nothing to back them up. We see the lines about "highest ticket prices" and "build a property portfolio" but there is zero data to back it up. So what's the point saying it if you can't back it up? And by "you" I mean people in general.
There's a very good point in what you say there; "we'll never win consistently with them" because I think that's actually the whole reason for all the spending restrictions etc. Someone else mentioned it earlier in the thread - that of the big revenue clubs we are the only one who hasn't won a trophy. That's not exactly correct but clearly we are miles behind the rest. But the killer part is "big revenue clubs" with the correct (imo) implication that in the modern game you need a big revenue in order to compete regularly.
I know that us fans all have differences in what we want from football and for me at least I would prefer to have a decent chance every year rather than pop up with a trophy and then win nothing for another 10 years. I get it that other fans would be happy to win 1 in 10 like that and that's fine. I agree that the ENIC strategy is to be consistently there or thereabouts, but I think we would disagree about if that's a good thing or not. I would argue that we will see more success by constantly knocking on the door instead of the occasional ram raid.
To tie both points together a bit - the grass is greener and what's the point - what is the point of Everton? Or Newcastle? Or Villa? Or Nottingham Forest? Most would say those teams have a decent past but less chance than us of winning stuff these days. So if there's no point in our owners then what the hell are the fans of these clubs thinking?
But yeah, what's the point. The usual crowd will neg rep this post without providing any sort of input so I guess this just wasted time. Shame because I enjoy talking about Spurs.
Nonsense again and missing the point. We haven't been winning things, and currently look as far from it as any time in the last decade since the Redknapp years. Therefore you have little grounds for supposing in your previous post that even if we did finally win something it would be instantly discarded by our fans who'd demand more. I personally think the opposite would more likely be true.bet you wouldn't give any credit to ENIC because they went 12 years of failing
