The bit about working to ensure we hit the ground running made me laugh considering we’ll most likely leave our transfer business until the last minute
I was suspicious the moment I saw levy sends message, which contained the words ambition along with success on the pitch.

I’d love the sentiment to be true but let’s be honest DM is a chasm sized hole in our squad and we’ve been linked with PEH for a couple of months now, last year of his contract, reportedly want to sign for us, Jose is supposed to want him and we may well have a player they’d want in exchange. On the face of it a very doable transfer yet would anyone genuinely be surprised if we started the season without him or an alternative and are still negotiating for him into the last week of the window?

Did Levy's actual message contain so many repeated sentences of has Gold completely failed at copying and pasting?

After reading his message.. Especially the point about being ambitious to deliver on the pitch and working with Jose to hit the ground running.. My message to Daniel (not that he will be reading it or give a rats arse what I think haha!) Is actions speak louder than words!.

We all can clearly see what needs to be done to help improve the team and the urgent recruitment and investment in players in certain areas needs to be done to give Jose the chance to work with the team he wants to put out on the pitch next season.

If you haven’t learned by now not to trust a word this man says about ambition for on field success then more fool you.

love how he managed to shoe horn in the fact that we were the highest net spenders last year which I guess was his way of absolving himself of any blame for this season.

It’s kind of funny that was the first thing in the letter because 6 months ago he said we need to get over this obsession with spending money and no correlation between spending and winning. I think he put that in to kind of say look I was right spending money doesn’t give success. Bit pathetic really. Basically we won’t be spending much any time soon.

Lets be honest it wouldn't be a massive shock to see him in an Everton shirt next season due to Levy finding away/ come up with an excuse not to make this very do able transfer happen.

Of course actions speak louder than words but I have to admit that Levy’s open letter is very positive and certainly addressed the key concerns of the fans regarding investing in the team and prioritising success on the pitch.

The proof will now be in the pudding so to speak. Would be really nice if Levy can properly align with and back Jose and Jose wins is a trophy as it would be a double win for the club, firstly a much overdue trophy and secondly it would vindicate Levy’s decision to sack Poch and hire Levy and for all the good work he’s done with stadium and training ground etc I think he deserves us to have some success on the pitch but the signings have to match the managers philosophy and needs and no more of these 3rd / 4th choice punts on N’Jie and N’Koudou and Jansen, just get quality instead of quantity, stop filling our basket with bargains from the pound shop and start shopping at John Lewis and get some gifts people actually want.

Yea i think the fact he put in about the net spending was good as it makes Me
Think He and the club are aware of the recent and ongoing fans frustrations with the perceived lack of prioritising success ON the pitch. Actions will speak louder than words but that’s the first time I’ve seen him speak like that in a letter so for me that’s a positive.

That statement will get many lapping it up and praising his name as per usual. Donna’s a great publicist for dear leader.

This is the kind of typically anodyne, end of season message that you'll find from every club chairman in football. It's no more worth getting annoyed about it than hopeful about it.

It’s entirely possible that I’m being thick, but I can’t find anywhere in the statement that suggests anything about our intentions in the forthcoming transfer window with regard to spend.

It's clearly there in black and white, if you can't see it you're an ENIC apologist and you're happy to accept mediocrity.

My point being that many in this thread seem to be suggesting that they’ve seen some promise of spending, which in three months time if we haven’t signed Mbappe and Bentacus those same fans will be saying ‘broken promises, death to Enic!’

I just found it funny after telling us we need to stop this obsession with spending money he decided to open his statement by boasting of one of the highest net transfer spends in the summer.

I don’t see why the two have to be linked.

On the one hand he’s saying that that it’s not all about who spends the highest transfer fee as there’s so much more to it than that, and on the other hand he’s saying that having invested heavily in the squad he’d have hoped for a better season.

You’re just looking for a stick to beat him with here.

Just saw this:

Daniel Levy has been named on The Sunday Times Rich List 2020, with the Tottenham chairman reportedly worth £329million. Renowned for his financial prudence and negotiating skills, Levy is a new entrant on the list in 398th spot

Levy said not being top of the money league table doesn't bother him and he's happy to just be competing

A spokesman for the BSoDL said that for once, not being careful what you wish for has paid off

From what I am reading Levy is trying to low ball his bid for the Korean centre half it seems this man will never but never give the manager what's required to build a team . It may be he gets his man but on the other hand he could lose the player to someone who will bid what they want and from what I understand its not an astronomical fee . Does anybody else think this penny-pinching is getting beyond a joke if you was bidding for say a player in the upper echelons perhaps the low balling could be understandable but the price of this player is in the range of a championship club and one of the elite clubs should be able to make a deal sooner rather than later .
