That might be why he was bought in. Help find an owner who would invest to win.

My guess on this is that it relates back to the rumours we've had in the past around technology based sponsorship of the stadium, particularly when you note Jonathan's background in Silicon Valley.

Remember the goal of the stadium was always to be one of the most technologically advanced in the world. And so far very little of that goal has been realised, mostly due to the need to just get the stadium up and running so it could generate revenue, given the delays.

The next step for the stadium is to actually make the experience of attending games more innovative in order to drive a better fan experience. Added to this now is the massive impact COVID will have on the fan experience. The only real way to bridge this gap IMO is with technology, which will include all kinds of innovation that's needed.

I would personally expect us to announce a technology partnership with the stadium as the focus of this, with a major household technology company in the coming months.

He specializes in mergers & acquisitions.

I think he did, not so much does now. Since he left Qatalyst in October 2018 he'e been a Technology & Finance advisor to the UK government and subsequently a Managing Partner at Sillicon Valley focused VC.

If you look at company's in their Portfolio there's some in there, such as Sonos, that might give more context to what his role could be relating to at Spurs. Sonos have dominated the market due to their relationships with Apple (having their products for sale in stores) and Amazon/Google - where they have integrated Alexa and Google Assistant into their products.

I can't see Spurs making any acquisitions of technology companies, so it makes little sense that he would be brought in for that, and for me more sense that he would be brought in for his experience in technology partnerships and funding experience from Silicon Valley.

But of course this is all a guess, so could well be wrong.

I think he’s appointment is definitely weighted more towards the technology side. Lots of things are going to open up in coming years Covid related and not, from broadcast platforms to fan interaction. Makes sense to have great experience in that area heavily involved.

Metalhead

But that's a debate for another thread.....

It sounds like it from DL's comments. Building a talented team off the pitch is certainly as important as on it.

Yep. I've long said the club will be wanting to keep the stadium as the best in the world and will be innovative towards the fan experience to do this. Sure there are only certain boundaries you can push but making the experience better can only be a good thing. For example, I don't think the circulation of fans around the concourses is good at all. They will need to do something to improve that somehow.
