Kane vs Iceland:

  • Great ball to the back post that Smalling should have done better with.
  • Cracking volley
  • Peach of a through ball for Vardy

You wants to highlight a shite player for England that night then look no further than Rooney - done nothing as far as I remember.

What worries me is that for a long time now our boys have looked out of their depth. Take Alli out of that a bit as he was suspended, but after the Chelsea game they all just looked done. Not sure what that is, tiredness due to Poch's training. Giving up as the title was gone. Playing for Hodgson..

Dier played well in the first 3 but then was rightly substituted, so he'll probably be okay. Rose & Walker playe.......

Nah we'll be fine

I wonder if there is truth in the 'Poch trains them too hard to last an entire season' thinking? Kane and Alli seemed spent....but Walker, Dier and to a lesser extent Rose seemed to have their usual energy.

For me, one minor good point is that our players might seem less appealing in the transfer market now....at least to the big European clubs. English clubs will still know our guys are the real deal.

I reckon Poch would've been straight on the phone or text to the guys, especially Kane after he was booed, to help them keep their chins up.

The joke was that the Spurs players were the fittest on show for England. Alli kept making runs into the box and Rooney failed to move the ball quick enough, people can say what the like about Kane he did put a lot of work in, did a lot of donkey work, unnoticed. Walker Rose Dier, in games ran the show. The England team were fit just technically not good enough.

kane will be fine. he will finally get some service playing with erickson and lamela. the full backs were ok on the whole, dier was fine and alli was up and down and should have been replaced.

problem for the spurs boys was the style of play which was not how they are play at spurs.

MoPo will get our boys back into shape and restore their confidence, of that I have no doubt.

They must put it behind them and get on with the job of making Tottenham great again.

Kane seems to start the season poorly, let's just hope this is it and starts the season well!

I think it's clear from the way the season ended that we still are not there in regards to our mental strength. Certainly not throughout the squad. English players in general have that weakness and ours still need to develop that. However they're young players and under Pochettino I think they will fight back after our end of the season and the England players with the Euro exit on top.

I think it would have been a different story for our players had we not ended the season the way we did. It must have been difficult to pick ourselves up after that. I'm hoping they will be even more determined when they return for the new season to turn things around. The same for the England national team ahead of the next world cup.

We missed out on the title and somehow let Arsenal finish above us, then our England players were humiliated in France. I guess we'll find out just how tough we really are now.

They will be fine.

Rooney and Sterling, on the other hand should not be seen wearing a national team kit, unless they bought it on-line. Full kit wankers imo

I feel for Kane, clearly tired and has now played two summers in a row, hope we get a striker done in time to give Kane a break for most of August!

Added to the tail end of last season its definitely a worry. Was it all just a shattered illusion that we were any good?

If we have a sluggish start to the new season we will find out loads about both the manager and the players, I hope so much that they're up to it

Apparently Lothar Matthaeus also says that Rooney should never play for England again. When somebody of his stature says that, maybe Woy's successor should sit up and take notice.

Let's not let this England debacle pull our boys down! The coach/coaching was crap and the team lacked a leader. Fortunately they don't have long before they can get back with a good coach in a fine coaching structure and start working on something positive.
