Is anyone else worried about how the England shambles will affect us? We supplied 5 of last nights starting line up and no one played particularly well. You could visibly see Kane's confidence crumbling and they might get vilified in the press and face a bit of public backlash.

I really hope we don't suffer because of Hodgson's ineptitude and we can hit the ground running next season.

I had the same thought, but I think actually Woy will take the flak & secondly people have other shit on their minds right now, i don't think the press has the time or inclination to crucify players as they have in the past

They'll be fine once they're back home and working with a coach and system that they know. So often with England it looks like nobody knows what they are meant to be doing or what anyone else is doing either.

Kane might also benefit from not taking the set pieces. Ever again.

Kane started last season off form, missing chances, low on confidence. He finished the Prem's top scorer.

I think he, and the other four, will be fine. Last night was a shambles for everyone, but Dier, Rose and Walker played well in their other games.

Nope

Kane will have another season start where his quality is questioned and he will end up with 20+ again.

Kane's the only one we have to be worried about. Alli wasn't great but flew under the radar with so many worse performers around him. Dier, Rose and Walker all enhanced their credentials over the course of the tournament, probably the only three England players to do so - they were all poor in the Iceland game, but were overshadowed by much worse performances from more senior players, not to mention the manager. Hodgson, Hart and Sterling have taken the brunt of the criticism, with Kane probably the next on the list but generally given the benefit of the doubt because of how much football he's played in the past two years. None of them are high on the hit list of the media or fans.

So yeah, nothing to worry about with four of them, and I'm not especially worried about Kane - as mentioned above, he has already come through a tough spell at the start of last season and finished top scorer. He seems like a resilient young lad and will presumably relish getting back to the supportive environment at the Lane, not to mention a team that suits his style of play.

As my son put it - All Hodgson needed to do was play the Spurs players in the Spurs formation and just fill in the holes with the other players... Its not difficult! Whats this 4-3-3 rubbish...

And I have to agree with him. If we had the players and the experience to play 4-3-3 then fine, but you cant take a Spurs team that had a great season playing 4-2-3-1 and then play them out of position and in a 4-3-3 and still expect great results.
It was bound to fail!

Stupid Woy!

Problem there is that there's no one who can play like Dembele, Eriksen or Lamela available for England selection, and no CBs who are as comfortable playing from the back as our Belgian pairing.

I think it might actually help our players as they can now put that awful experience behind them and go out and play football for a real team under a real manager.

That shit was just a mirage.

Nah!! Our boys will be fine. The problem with England is, as always, clueless administrators in the FA appointing a clueless dinosaur as manager!! As horrible an experience it was the lads will pick themselves up for the new season. (y)

My slight concern is that this was on top of the dismal finish to the season we had, culminating in a capitulation to Newcastle. The players will not be the same but will the experiences make or break them? Time will tell I guess

Poch will have a word with all of them and they'll all feel better within five minutes.

Not only do the Spurs players know the coach and the system, but the manager and his staff know the system. Also, to be blunt, they're among a better group of players at the Lane, and I say that knowing full well that we screwed up the last few weeks of the domestic season royally.

Especially when the Liverpool lads play a similar game.

The signs for our Young Spurs in terms of mentality has to improve it's imperative they taste success soon, otherwise I worry they get used to failure.

Finishing 3rd behind Arsenal on the last day of the season was much more damaging imo.

I'm not concerned tbh - their confidence will return once they come home and get back working with Poch. It could even end up being a blessing in disguise as perhaps some of the hype around the likes of Kane and Alli will fade a bit and take some pressure of them.
