And that article will be 1 reason while we are smaller today. We need to quit that mentality and just concentrate on improving.

I hate these articles. They are embarrassing. Until we regularly finish above Arsenal in the league we should just keep our mouths shut. Reminds me of mind the gap.

The article makes very little sense.

Essentially there are a couple of elements of why this stadium is a big deal in improving our club:

1.The way the stadium is being financed means we should be making less payments to pay for it resulting in less tightening of the purse strings for on-field activities.

2. The size of the stadium and the amount of people on the waiting list should create a much larger attendance to matches.

3. This in turn leads to bigger sponsorship deals.

4. The area itself will be much improved and more attractive for players to come to.

The article's claim that the stadium being bigger is a factor has some truth but their regular appearances in the CL makes this gap larger to compete with.

It's yet to be seen how the size of the stadium will affect the atmosphere. Not going to crow about that one just yet.

The NFL deal might be a big factor, I'm guessing it is.

The best players are currently leaving for Real Madrid. This will continue to happen providing we have players of the quality they want. A truly nonsensical point.

Nice stable home for the kids to grow up in, whatever.

Claiming Arsenal keep on moving is an embarrassing point to bring up.

Might have found a manager to stick with. Maybe, who knows. Nothing to do with the stadium though.

Levy has a masterplan. Hope so.

Shit article trying too hard to make a point that isn't really true but thanks for sharing.

Just drop the Arsenal bull.. . Couldn't care less what they think .Any time we make or suggest improvements for the benefit of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club its compared to Arsenal then follow quotes of their opinions.

WHY do we always compare ourselves to other teams?
We are who we are there is no comparison!!!

We are Tottenham Hotspur,
Tottenham from the Lane,
it won't be too much longer,
before the whole world does know our name.

COYS.

States we were a financial basket case when ENIC took over from Alan Sugar. Incorrect.
The 'article' is all talk, little substance, bordering on cringeworthy.
Was this written by a 16 year old by any chance?

The best part about that article was the awkward photo of Levy at the bottom

That's a horrendous article. I think it would be taken down if originally posted on here, dafuq has it made it on to the site of a national newspaper?

I totally agree with this

We've just announced plans for a new stadium - don't get me wrong, I'm excited, but it'll be years before it's built, let alone paid off, and even after that it'll take a while before the money starts filtering down for us on players

It's a fantastic shot in the arm for the club, but lets not under estimate the task at hand - being having to infiltrate, on a consistent basis, a highly established top 4, each of whom is years ahead of us in development and who are likely to consistently qualify for the CL in the meantime.

I'm delighted with the stadium plans, but we're playing catch up

a massive factor will be the fans. the moment the groans start Poch will be sacked. the collective we, have to actually create a fortress. Nothing more intimidating than home fans going making so much noise. Nou Camp is a great example of this. When the referee gets it from the fans, oh boy does he get it.

They may have Champions League football whereas we do not (yet) but to negate that disparity, we will also have three NFL games which will yield upwards of an extra £16,000,000 apparently, if the stadium is filled to capacity on all three occasions, which (allegedly) shouldn't be a problem.

So financially, when our new stadium does get built, we are going to be on a level par with the scum from down the road. They are going to hate that.

Of course, if we do have Champions League football when the new stadium get's built, it's going to be even worse for them, as our generated annual turnover is going to be greater than theirs, with the added NFL matches.

Yes, I'm daring to dream...

Do not long then.
Too long for Spurs fans to sit quietly and wait for on the pitch success though ;-)

I just hate anything compared to Arsenal, we are always behind them in the league - and every possibly arguement ends with that.

Nothing else matters to be honest, so lets just get on with it and see if we can start doing it where it matters to us most.
