This is really great to hear, thanks for posting. If we can tie up Maddison and Tapsoba our starting XI is improved massively from last season when you add in Porro, Udogie and our new keeper.

Lets hope we can make this happen and add one CB too

we’ve also brought the age of the squad down if these guys replace the likes of Hugo, Peresic. All mid to low 20’s with potential. Exciting stuff

I hate to be the downer but it will likely be this guy (hopefully, or someone like him) and Lenglet. I don’t think we’re getting two guys like Tapsoba this window.
Agreed but that would be good business. Gives us a solid partnership with great potential for the future without European mid week games requiring lots of rotation. Bring in another next summer like Tosin and we're set for awhile until time to integrate some youth.

if we successfully get rid of Dier, Sanchez, Tanganga and Rodon I think we need to bring in 2 CBs in addition to Lenglet

Will be great if we can tie this one up this week too. Lots of problem areas getting sorted early on and with quality players too.

No way this will happen IMO.

Leverkusen will probably lose Tah on a transfer, now Hincapie will miss their pre season with an injury. I am pretty sure Tapsoba is not for sale this summer, unless its silly money (more than 50m)

Danny Kelly said something interesting on Last word on Spurs. ( It was a great show for once and worth a listen by the way).

He said he can't believe we're bidding 25 million for this guy when he believes that the club think they can get 60 million for him.

You would think Danny hears stuff and he isn't a troll so worth thinking about

A player is worth what a club will pay for him. We're getting Maddison for £20m less than was reported.

People say numbers all the time. If we've bid what we've bid it's because that's where we think the range should be.

City pulling out of Rice also show that even they won't pay stupid money, they'll move onto their next target.

He is literally just quoting the Daily Star story which is dumb

Could this have an impact on our Tapsoba-pursuit ??
Just in... From Kicker, Germany.

To the conference league winner? West Ham interested in Tah !

Months ago, Jonathan Tah informed Bayer 04 that he wanted to leave the club after eight years. An interested party for the international, who has an exit clause, is West Ham United - the new club of former Leverkusen squad planner Tim Steidten.

Jonathan Tah has been pursuing the Premier League dream for some time. And so the central defender had an exit clause anchored in his contract when he last extended his contract in Leverkusen, a year before his old working paper would have ended, that he can leave Bayer 04 for a fixed fee of 18 million euros.

That an absolute top club from the strongest league in the world bites for this price is considered unlikely. Despite a very good second half of the season, in which the 27-year-old was perhaps the strongest and most consistent Bayer professional. Nevertheless, there is at least one well-known prospect on the island: West Ham United.

Tim Steidten, former Bayer 04 sports manager, will be in charge at the Hammers from 1 July, and not just when it comes to squad composition and transfers. And so, ironically, after Steidten's enthronement, there could very quickly be a first encounter with his former club on the transfer market.

Guess so, and Leverkusen fans think so as well. Mentioned that before.

But..who knows...

Yes it's been mentioned a few times:
- Tah has been linked with moves to us, West Ham (most strongely), and PL in general
- Frimpong just changed agents and Fab has tweeted "one to watch"
- Arsenal are sniffing around Diaby (we should be too). I know he's an attacker but still

All those combined just make me think we have to strike very soon. Leverkusen seems pretty well off, but if we can give them the guaranteed amount they want first before these other clubs then I think they could bite and dig their heels in on the others. They also have Hincapie (who we've been linked with) that can naturally become a full-time LCB starter.

Has anybody actually seen Tapsoba play much or is there even any online feedback (in English) on his performances? I know the Serie A fans were very complimentary of Vicario which was encouraging. Is there anything similiar on Tapsoba?

Maybe I'm just mentally scarred by the Ndombele/GLC/Sanchez type signings but always makes me nervous when we spend big on players without a high profile, track record or positivty around them.

I saw a comment from a Bayer fan, said that they feel at absolute ease when he's dealing with situations.

Prof on COYS saying we were quoted around £60m when we enquired. Given that they reportedly don't want to lose him, I can't see them budging much from that price, so I wouldn't be surprised if we've moved on to other targets (VDV)
