I'm not a massive Dier fan, but Ive been very balanced on my opinion on apparent interest in him from Man Utd.
He has done a decent job for us, and his adaptability was invaluable in a thin squad. Hence he always makes a lot of appearances.
But, he doesn't feel me with confidence in possession like the rest of the team. He isnt incredibly mobile. And when him and Wanyama play next to each other he doesn't seem to know what his job is.
Hypothetically, If we had to sell 2 of our top 13-14 players from last season, Walker and Dier would have been pretty much on top of the list for a lot of people I feel, especially at the sums being quoted.
As it is, we just made two great signings, leaving most of Dier's adaptability redundant.
We got an incredibly good player at RB for half what we sold Walker for.
We got a seemingly excellent young centre half.
It would appear that Diers role for us now, is even more that of a 2nd tier sqaud player.
With this in mind if we could get 60m now, to use elsewhere, would you take it?
I would in a heartbeat.
