Did you?
With a dynamic midfield of Jenas and Livermore?
With poor little Degoal up front all on his own?
With a keeper who cant get his feet off of the ground anymore?
Would you have been happy to see this team win at one of Spains finest and give us a false sense of security, or
are you pleased that this has given us the short sharp shock that MUST galvanise the management to make the siginings they know we need and make them fast.

totally agree with the last bit....although there were periods of play that were very encouraging. But boy do we need to get our arse in gear and start buying the players we need or we are going to be in for a really rocky fucking ride.

Whether we won or not, this is what we have, we are where we are kind of thing....Last night won`t inspire Levy to splash the cash any quicker.

What an absolutely preposterous and daft thing to raise.

It's basically saying 'would you rather be proved wrong or for Spurs to lose?'

I want us to win every single game we play, irrespective of the team we put out or the reasons behind it.

I wanted us to win, of course. I don't think it would have made much difference if we had, it's not like we suddenly would no longer require a striker.

I am opening a forum for debate not asking for posturing. if you cant debate a point then dont bother coming up with a posturing point. This is a forum, a forumis where debateable points are raised, where did i give an opinion one way or another in my post?

I disagree. We know we have a chairman keen on tightening purse strings. Not because he wants the bad of the club, but because he runs a tight ship very well, and is in the process of building a multi-million pound brand spanking new stadium.

So if we turned up last night and Jenas played one of those blinders he usually plays against Arsenal, Defoe banged in one or two goals like we know he can do and Friedel pulled off a couple wonder saves, all together concocting a 3-0 win, there would have been good argument against us signing players we obviously need.

The fact is our central midfield last night was poor, and we only have Sandro to come in for the Newcastle game, our goalkeeper gets to the ground with his free bus pass and our striker is a candidate for the star role in a second season of Life's Too Short with Warwick Davis.

So no, it's not a daft thing to raise. Stating people might not want Jenas, Livermore and Defoe in our starting XI so they're not proven wrong is a lot more daft IMO.

i am worried that JJ has said as we lost last night its going to liven the transfers up, couldnt we see the huge holes in our squad before that and it needed a loss to tell us we need to strengthen

Oooooooooooh get her :)

I know how to debate thanks very much squire. Will contact you when I need lessons on debating.

My debating point is....it was a very stupid question.

If Jenas had played out of his skin last night and got a hatrick, then that would be an excellent thing, perhaps suggesting we don't need to go and buy further central midfielders.

If Defoe had somehow learnt how to hold up the ball and played excellently as a target man then that would obviously be a good thing.

etc etc

How would them being crap in any way benefit the team at all?

So yeah...daft question.

So after watching Defoe and Jenas since their early ages and knowing them almost inside out, you're suggesting one good match against Valencia could have altered any opinion you had on them. And they say Spurs fans are fickle....

If you can point to where I said that then good for you.

Well done on making my point for me though. As they were apparently poor last night, what exactly has that changed? How would wanting us to lose make any difference?

The whole premise is frankly baffling.
