So what you are saying is that Lampard, Gerrard and Scholes had 59 goals and assists combined, and Dele has 64 on his own?TAS?⚪️

Eriksen was excellent again here throughout. But somehow it always seemed inevitable that Alli would make the difference. The heightened pressure around him in recent weeks, the hand‑wringing at the odd fragile moment is unsurprising. This is the dominant weather system of English football, a corrosive, endlessly sceptical revisionism applied to every talented player. Two vital goals were a wonderful riposte, on an afternoon when Tottenham’s coherence, the sense of greater purpose around this team, found a cutting edge in the pure, non‑negotiable talent of their roving No 10.
I don’t rate Southgate as a tactical genius coach, but I admire how he is going about managing England. He wants a system that suits the squad and is looking to find a balanced team, where the sum is greater than the parts. Something Capello and Eriksson never came close to finding (whilst wasting our golden generation!). If Southgate finds a formula that works for him then I’m not too fussed if Lingard gets the nod over Dele. He clearly sees our biggest asset is pace, and for that reason he’s looking at a 3-4-2-1 with oodles of pace in the 2 AM roles. Not sure Lingard is that Quick though. Either way, it’s a squad tournament and I’m sure Dele’s class will ultimately shine through at the WC.
Sad to see him like this. And he’s speaking the truth
Loving the post match interviews from Dele.
The media has him all wrong.
