Proper sad for it to come to this, but it was time to part. The painful re-build rolls on. Will be buzzing for him if he can re-find some of the old magic, and more than happy to see him be doing that at a club largely harmless to our goals. Thanks for the memories, Dele ?

We all wanted him to get that spark back. Wish him all the best, hope he gets a good reception when he plays at the lane.

Lampard wills get him scoring again. Very sad to see Alli's career at Tottenham end but glad he's going to Everton the Spurs of the North.

Really hope he can smash it for Everton, he was so good for us for so long.

prime/peak Dele Alli was the best English midfielder since Lampard and Gerrard.

'16-17 were two years of pure magic, freeform jazz. Ingenious talent, physical supremacy, putting himself about the pitch as confidently as I've seen a player do in a Spurs shirt.

Sad what has happened to him (I really think injuries need to be addressed, he's lost two yards of pace and has never been the same player).

You'll always have a home at Spurs, Dele. So sad to see him go.

I second all of that. Him in peak form was integral in a team that thrilled us all and got so close to glory.

I hope he goes to Everton and has a renaissance in his career. It’s a big ask of course but he has the World Cup on the horizon. At the moment he’s miles off it but it’s something he should be aiming for if he wants to make anything of the start of the second half of his career.
