Well, sort of. There's a limit on squad size for over-21's which has a max number of non-HG. It generally means that we are still limited to less than 25 if we can't top up the 17 by 8 HG, so FOJ is still correct.
Ah ok. To be honest, I'm sure the club know what they're doing with regards to the rules, so not anything we need to be worried about!

Can imagine Dele’s convo with Neymar:

“. What'd they call a Big Mac?” Big Mac's a Big Mac, but they call it Le Big Mac.”

Don't think so? I think it's a limit on the number of non-homegrown rather than a set number of homegrown (for PL at least) - deffo need to sell 2-3 non-homegrown players.
Yeah and we currently have 18 non-homegrown If you count Davies. We have 7 so called homegrown. We sell or loan Alli and Rose we can only replace with HG. So we cannot bring in Skrinier without selling other non-homegrown. My point being it leaves us with a smaller squad.

It's getting bandied about in the media a lot now. Is this just lazy bullshit "journals" copying each others work, or deliberate briefing from the club. What was the last ITK?

Unless we are happy to have a squad of less than 25 we need to find some home grown to replace him and Rose if they go.
As it stands, we can get a 25 man squad

CTHG: Kane, Bale, Winks.
u21: Tanganga
ATHG: Hart, Doherty, Sessegnon, Dele
The 17: Lloris, Gazzaniga, Aurier, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Dier, Davies, Reguilón, Højbjerg, Sissoko, Gedson, Lo Celso, Ndombele, Son, Lucas, Lamela, Bergwijn

We already need to ship out Foyth. Obvious contenders elsewhere are Lamela or Lucas for a forward as those two plus Son, Bergwijn, Bale is OTT on the flanks, and Aurier for a CB because Tanganga is more likely to get minutes at RB than CB anyway, especially if we sign a CB.

Dele and Sessegnon, if they’re loaned it’s to help their development because our bloated squad and also our formation means their minutes will suffer, so I doubt we’d look to replace them, we’d just have a 23 man squad instead of 25.

Rose is irrelevant to any discussion as he’s probably going to get released and paid off Adebayor style if no club signs him by the end of the window, with the pay off contingent on nobody signing him for free before next summer.

I think you sell Foyth (reluctantly or maybe a loan), Gazzaniga, Aurier and then I'd let Moura go. He offers similar to what Bergwijn and Son do and if we bring defensive work rate into it then Lamela is the better option for that. As I say would rather Dele stays but there we are.

Smashes it for a year with PSG, gets him in the Euro squad, we’ve not paid his wages but his value and reputation has risen, and we either get back a confident, on form, evolved player with three years left on his deal, or a player for whom we could justify demanding a huge fee to let go of.
There's a reason we'd be loaning him in the first place though isn't there? I can't see Mourinho suddenly welcoming him back with open arms after a good year at PSG, and I can't imagine Alli would be happy here either knowing the coach doesn't really trust him. Honestly if we do this loan I think that's the last time he plays for us. The better he does the bigger the fee we get is the way I see it, unless we change our coach again soon.

Ask nicely?
Yeah that'll do it.

I'm not saying they won't leave, just that if they don't want to there's not a lot you can do about it other than pay then up it's not just a case of we need bodies out , so they are the ones that are going.

And if they don't want to leave?

Nothing you can do, can't force them. Aurier is the only one who seems to have made sounds about leaving. I think Foyth has been open to it also saying if he couldn't get assurances about game time then he'd look to move on. As I say I'd personally prefer to keep Lamela instead of Moura but if one is open to moving and the other isn't then it forces your hand.

Be surprised if Aurier, Foyth and possible Gazzaninga don't want to leave. On face of it Gazzaninga is now third choice keeper. Foyth hasn't been near the first team on match day since January last year and as it stands Aurier is second choice right back and it was no secret that he wanted to leave last summer. All three of them are good enough to go and be first choice some where else if they make the right move.

Yeah, to be honest if I could for the issue I'd rather see Alderweireld and Sissoko move on before any of the ones I mentioned, I just see that as impossible.

Funny that. Earlier this summer Inter were said to be able to get a deal for Messi.
