He seemed alright, said he did and he didn't regret not moving to Man Utd. but that's understandable. He said he thoroughly enjoyed his football at spurs, saying "unfortunately, Ossie Ardiles brand of football couldn't last forever" laughing. Both him and Teddy touched on the "spurs way" of football and I felt quite proud just listening, Teddy said at Man U the mentality was win, regardless, but at spurs it was different, the fans wouldn't have us scraping a 0-0 away at anywhere, we'd start getting at the lads to attack.
I loved Anderton, one of the most gifted English players of his generation, similar to Ledley in that if he wasn't so injury prone he would have gone to a top club.
Even with his injuries, he played over 300 league games with us, and was often the bright spark in a dull team.
No Anderton played for a top club,if he was so interested in playing for England he wouldnt have got all injuries.
Oddly enough,i loved Hoddle,Ossie,Roberts.I feel sorry for any spurs fan who started watching us from 92 onwards.Anderton has 3 good years and was then pony for us,not for England though!
Andertons last 2 years for us were painful because he lost his pace completely and became just a neat player and a shadow of what he once was, but he had two wonderful spells, one with Sheringham and one with Ginola. He was a far more capable right winger then people seem to realise, with a brilliant cross, a very clever turn of pace and a lovely through ball. He had a hell of a shot to boot. A shame that injuries played such a big role in his career.
As for Sheringham, I didn't like his attitude during his second spell, but he is doubtless an absolute legend and I wish we had him at the club now isntead of Sherwood and Ferdinand.
