The standout English defender of the last few months.

Sadly, should the Sky4 have a CB amongst them who is available for selection he wont get a sniff.

'In contention'. Condescending wank. fuck off England.

I think we need to stop talking about the sky4, over the last couple of years Spurs are always on sky. In fact after we've played in the San Siro then our last 7 games would have been televised including all 3 prem games on sky. We have been since the CL qualification season a bit of a darling of Sky so i don't think we can label the old guard that anymore

Mind you, actually I reckon he CAN read a game pretty well, and that's what redeems him. Bobby Moore was like that though he could play a pass and turn a tackle into a pass as well etc etc, and in many respects there's no comparison, but the key was reading the game.

Do you not think that in some ways, there's a valid argument for suggesting that, as he's playing in this new tougher modern era, Dawson is possibly even superior to Bobby Moore ? Would Moore be able to cope with modern strikers like Carroll & Giroud with such aplomb. I think not.

Well I'm not going to mention how much I've always defended him and argued against his detractors on here (oops I just did) but suffice to say I couldn't be happier to see Daws leading our club to success and proving where it matters what a great player and top bloke he is.

Just a little note - he's been criticised in the past for apparently not demonstrating his famed leadership qualities enough (even though I've given scores of examples). Watch the Arsenal game again - from the pre-game huddle where he led the team-talk to every set piece and corner we were forced to defend - constant instruction, direction of his defence, and encouragement of his team-mates. Not to mention of course his righteous anger at the Goons not kicking the ball out - Vermaelen would've been ripped to shreds if Daws had got near him!

Proud to call the man our leader. Ashamed to say I wouldn't have been too worried on a footballing level if he'd left in the summer (I wanted him to stay because he's Michael fucking Dawson), how wrong so many of us were. Manlove is the only word.
