I hope the club don’t get cocky in our pursuit of Gallagher if we are interested. We shouldn’t assume that we are his only suitors. His stats tell you that we won’t be the only club to take an interest if he’s available.

At the moment the only other club I’ve heard mentioned is West Ham..

The analysis by Swiss Ramble projected that they're on track to exceed next year's threshold by about £100million, so they need to clear that by June 30th to avoid sanctions. View attachment 136695
You have to give credit to Boehly's astonishing achievement , it's really not easy to spend that much money and make the team so much worse...

Any chance we sign Gallagher and loan him back to Chelsea, for experience at a smaller club?

This one just feels like a Levy deadline day jam job special.

Honestly, I’m here for it.
The time is 11.55 on February 1st 2024 and Dannyboy is readying his 10m plus N'Dombele bid for Gallagher.

Boehly has to then weigh up whether it's better to have 20 points deducted or have Tanguy.

With the latest charges hanging over Forest and Everton I wonder if that will put pressure on Chelsea to make this sale in this window

I wouldn’t say he’s far more creative to be fair. 5 assists in 65 PL games. I actually like Lo Celso under Ange but he’s never available and we should cash in while we can with his contract expiring soon
Under Ange: Lo Celso

4 starts (6 sub appearances)
2 goals 2 assists.

Let's not judge him on how he played under Conte or Mourinho. The guy is built for a pass and move team, not a shitty park bus and counter team. Too many on here underrate the player because he wasn't good in a team that played a style completely unsuited to him.

Personally I think that we should attempt to renew his contract rather than try and cash in. His performance vs Bournemouth was one of the best by any of our midfielders all season. Obviously if he's not open to re-signing then sell him - fair enough...

If a decision is taken to move on from Lo Celso - it won't be because of skill or fit - it will be because of availability.

Harsh. But, fair.

I think it’s more the challenge that Lo Celso is rarely fit.

I’m probably reading far too much into the interviews post game yesterday, but Ange talked a lot about Romero being back 2 weeks ahead of schedule, VDV coming straight back in, and Bentancur wanting to play, all putting the team above their own personal wellbeing. I don’t think that bodes too well for Lo Celso and Sessegnon.

Or it will be his choice...

But I don't think anyone can question his commitment when he's played this year. He's fought for the badge as much as anybody.

Gallagher to me is a decent option for us in that number 8 role but when everyone is fit a Sarr and Bentancur are both quality in that role. Biss seems best suited to the 6 role and I’d be fishing for anther quality 6 rather than Gallagher. From my couch I’d go for Phillips over Gallagher.

Gallagher is good. I like Phillips too, but logic of Gallagher is he can play as a more forward thinking player, he could even play the 10. He is a great example of a more naturally attacking midfielder kinda held back because of his ability to take up multiple roles.

I just really struggle to see a Chelsea fan and one of their choices for captain leaving mid-season (or at all) for their most hated rival. I can believe Chelsea might want to sell him and that we might want to buy him, but unless he's not playing and has no other options I can't see him choosing us.

Er it’s Chelsea they will get nothing more than a small fine if that
If not now or before with abramovich, they have to be in massive trouble moving forward. Boehly is a fool.

It's all fine giving 8 year contracts to amortize the payments but they're now in a situation where they have to sell and consistently get champions league football to balance the books. Champions league football looks very unlikely for them right now too...

If they try and inflate the price for Gallagher fuck them and let them deal with the inevitable FFP breach.

Personally I would have 3 bentancurs to play at 6, 8 and 10, but for our team I think he’s more crucial in the 6, by far the most comfortable receiving the ball and getting us moving. I wonder if biss struggles to get his place back, whereas Sarr is making himself a really important part of our first team. Therefore I’d go for an 8 like Gallagher if pos.

My only hesitation with Gallagher - does he really want to come to Spurs?

That is a big deal to Ange - even more so than talent and tactical fit.
