Equally Chelsea fans may be biased towards 'one of their own' and can't see fault in a player at all because he runs around a lot and gets stuck in.
If the SC base is a mirror of all Spurs fans, and the way Winks and Skipp were/are rated here; I don’t really see why they should be so biased towards one of their own? We’re surely not!

We know as a well run sustainable club better than virtually anyone else in the league how much bother Chelseas are in and what our competition for Gallagher looks like
Chelsea are not allone in having to sell to rivals. It would appear Newcastle have issues as do most of our competition,
Man City have been selling to Arsenal, and others, KP going on loan, Pep saying he has no problem with selling players to anyone....
Arsenal are struggling to buy a striker, it would appear.
Ironically this has been brought about by the sugar daddy spend spend model that so many on here wanted us to follow.
Well Boehly in his supermarket sweep has basically completely and royally stuffed chelsea in buying loads of mediocre dross
Thank god we have the Don, Ange and a shrewd backroom team that have made sure we can be predators when these guys fall apart
For me Chelsea and City have been cheating for years, i believe that the punisment for Everton has created a real problem. The moment they start applying this kind of discipline
Man City and Chelsea are going to be in real trouble ....they can delay the inevitable by deep pockets and expensive lawyers but something will eventually blow up with them

(i think and hope) Ironically because innately the EPL has 18 other clubs in it that ultimately each have a voice that want a fairer playing field.
As for Gallagher, if chelsea have to make a few sales to balance their books, his options are fairly limited.
Many clubs wont be able to afford him of the ones that can, how many will be in the CL or there abouts? interestingly highly unlikely that chelsea will be there...
so the bookies have us as favourites to sign him at even money
they may well have to sell CG and others to balance the books

Could be true, but if they’re anything like Spurs fans the “one of our own” bias would only get him so far. Let’s be honest, Winks became one of the most disliked and scapegoated players on here. Skipp doesn’t have many fans either. Maybe Gallagher is still in the honeymoon period at Chelsea?

Next question if we did sign Gallaher does he start or is this most people's choice Rodrigo, Sarr & Madders
I think full strength would be Bentancur, Saar and Maddison.

But we know that doesn't happen often. Also there are times when we have injuries and certain players start, we know we are playing a weakened side. If Gallagher started, I wouldn't go into the match thinking negatively.

I think it will be down to form, he usually changes Saar around the 70th minute most games anyway due to the amount of running he does. So whether Saar or Gallagher starts we have a like for like replacement to keep the energy up when they come on.

We need this competition in our squad, obviously for injuries but also to keep everyone on their toes.

Beat me to it! Exactly my thoughts.

You can probably add Tanganga to that list also.

I think we tend to be biased until they start playing in the first team and then the patience soon runs out.

Agree. Fans might be positive towards them at the beginning or willing them to succeed but if a player isn't performing to the required level or ever look like doing so, they will lose their patience.

Gallaher has started every PL game this season that he has been available for , that's twenty games , completed the full ninety minutes in sixteen games and been captain several times, goals scored zero, four assists, going to take a lot of persuasion and money to entice him away unless Chelsea are desperate to sell.

Would be like the Mighty Ducks when they sign Adam banks from the Hawks, this one. Hopefully Gallagher quickly realises the error of his ways when/if he signs and we win the peewee cu... I mean premier league on the back of it.

Depends on a mixture of injuries/fatigue, form, suspension (or threat of suspension being on 4 yellows), type of opposition.

Even during the first 10 games of this season, whilst we had a settled side I bet Ange would’ve rotated if he had the options.

I don’t see this as a problem, the opposite actually. Look at Liverpool; they have 6 or 7 midfielders competing for 3 spots and up to 6 forwards fighting for 3 spots. It’s called competition for places and as Liverpool have shown it means you have a bench that can make real difference in games.

Can’t see a place for him in a fully fit starting 11 but would be a useful addition as we never have a fully fit starting 11

Yeah he's not joining us unless he thinks he'll be a regular starter.

If we had all of our players available he wouldn't make the team. Any of them could have made a big difference today.

Yes but that may never happen. The whole idea of depth is that when you are missing key players the players you put on aren’t a big drop. For what it’s worth I thought Skipp played well and Hojbjerg was ok.

Gallagher is Chelsea’s captain and among their very best performers this season, our club and manager clearly seem to want him and thus believe he would add depth/competition to the midfield that would in turn improve results. Fans might not like Gallagher but clearly the club feel he would improve our midfield.
