Pretty sure they quoted bayern 50m. Id imagine it would be more for us
I mean we're already gonna have to pay half that for Kelly tbh. So could just do away with that one and have Davies, Chalobah, Romero and VDV as the CB options.

We need to remember that Boehly isn’t Abramovich. He would never sell to us, let alone a key, academy asset. But this new regime is all about business and how it fits in with his future vision for the ‘franchise’. Much more common in US sports for players to move to ‘local rivals’ or teams with history together and nobody really cares.

Hope Levy rolls in to the office at Stamford bridge and as he hands over the holdall filled with the Gallagher readies as Boehly reaches out to grab it Levy drops it on the floor at his feet.

then looks him dead in the eye and says "Tell Roman to saddle up, the knob jockey" and walks out.

Surely there's not all this noise and we haven't even sounded out his desire to come...
I’m sure we’ve sounded him out, but it’s making sure that’s concrete and not a contract negotiation tactic I’m worried about!

If this does happen we need to be moulding Sarr into being able to backup Bissouma as well as playing in the role he has been. I like Gallagher but once Bentancur comes back I don’t want Sarr being severely impacted in terms of game time.

It’s still Sarr’s spot to lose as of now imo. He’s been incredible.

I envision a world where CG is capable of providing cover as the 8 & 10, Sarr 8 & 6. Bentancur 6 & 8. With Lo Celso and Skipp unlikely to feature much and hopefully sold by next summer.

Poch sold his soul when he went to Chelsea to work under that headcase Boehly. I've got absolutely no sympathy for him at all if he ends up losing players he wants to keep because he doesn't have any control.

I don't think we'll be in trouble, when Bentancur is fit we'll have 6 CMs for 3 positions. Out of CB, CM and a forward, and I think a CM is the least important.
I’m worried about Bentancur tbh. The injury he suffered can absolutely destroy an athlete at the level these guys need to be at.

I really hope he comes back to where he was before the injury - as I honestly think he’s one of our best players - but it’s far from certain.

I’m also not a fan of Skipp.

Sarr is still only 20 and it's a big ask for him to have him starting most games this year. He will play a ton of games for us this season I have no doubt and get plenty minutes but perhaps 30 mins off the bench rather than starting. It's a great problem for us to have, Gallagher will be first choice I would guess but will be pushed very hard by Sarr who is going to be an incredible player once he fully develops.

If we're trying to work on Sarr as a 6 (speculating here) in addition to an 8, then 30 minutes to spell Bissouma when he's not starting in his current role will also benefit his growth.
