Have you seen how much they've spent?! They just bought yet another winger for £40m.

Yes I have haha I'm more so saying that Poch has made him captain, Gallagher has talked about loving the project and club and Boehly is still saying he doesn't care lol just calling out a wild scenario

Tottenham make bid £40m for Chelsea's Conor Gallagher... but the Blues are holding out for £45m as Ange Postecoglou aims to land the midfielder on deadline day

  • Tottenham have made contact with Chelsea over a move for Conor Gallagher
  • Transfer news LIVE - All the latest on Deadline Day of the summer window
Tottenham made a verbal offer of up to £40million including add-ons for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.

The bid is £5m short of Chelsea's valuation of £45m for the 23-year-old.

As Mail Sport reported yesterday, the England international is weighing up his future after Chelsea brought in Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia for their midfield.

Gallagher captained Chelsea against AFC Wimbledon and would prefer to stay if he continues to get regular game time but is realistic about his opportunities.

Despite the influx of talent at the Blues this summer, Mauricio Pochettino has started the academy graduate in all three of the club's Premier League fixtures so far this season.
If we're that close on valuation and he wants to come, I'll reckon it gets done.

Strong disagree. Boehly will sell to anyone if they meet his price. That's how he rolls. This isn't Abramovich.

As I said in the ITK thread, it really does seem to be their new model under Boehly. The only way to counter their spending is to sell homegrown players for decent fees. I think all parties are keen on this, but unfortunately it all seems to hinge on stuff happening at Atletico.

Think Conor Gallagher is a quality player and if we’re nearly at the fee they want, get it done. Still can’t see it happening though.
Obviously not getting a striker in is disappointing, but if we bring in Johnson, Gallagher and a decent CB(not Kelly🤣) then these incomings is probably as good as it was going to be. Now still to get rid of the deadwood🙏🏻

For me, he’s an English version of Hatate who Ange had at Celtic, would bring great energy to our midfield.
Hadn't thought of this player comp before but it's actually very good. Maybe just with worse long shots but better box crashing. And also Gallagher being far more physically capable for the prem.

Would be a very exciting transfer imo.

Poch is definitely going to end up hating Boehly more than Levy, if it isnt the case already that is.

Just fucking offer 45m with add-ons. Are we really in a position to argue over 2 or 3m? There's only hours to go.

Doubt that very much.

Levy would ignore his opinions on transfers and buy him cheap players or nothing at all. (Not counting his last window)
Boehly similarly ignores his opinions on transfer but instead buys him £100m players and the highest rated talent around the world.

Crazy turnaround on this one. deal can be struck very late and Chelsea have given us optimism they will negotiate till the deadline, all parties are confident in an agreement before 11PM. Hoijberg needs to get a move on to facilitate as stated this morn.

That's the part that worries me :cautious:

We owe it to Ange to do him one solid. If this is the guy he wants today and we are 5M off just freaking pay it.
