Oh I completely agree re: Højbjerg, he doesn't fit properly. I think my biggest issue with the squad right now is that alternative 6, someone who is press resistant and can break lines. That is the biggest hole in the squad.

I think Bentancur can do that role. He had his best season at Juve when he played as a 6 under Sarri.

I am OK with this, we dont have enough games now to need 3 senior CB's and CM's. If we still have PEH and Dav i dont think its that bad
We are literally an injury away from Sanchez starting, that isn't good enough. Agree about CM though, we have 6 CMs if Hojbjerg leaves which should be fine.

If PEH goes do we actually need him? Im assuming he would be rotating with Skipp, Sarr and Bentancur rather then Biss no? Not saying i'm against him just curious about the balance of our midfield.

As far as HG players I much prefer him to Johnson but im not entirely convinced we need to be spending 50 mil on him.

I’m not too bothered about that tbh. He’s nowhere near as bad as some think he is. He’ll do fine in this system so long as we have a functioning midfield playing in front of him. We aren’t going to fix the squad in one window.

I disagree, understand why but we would better off getting the correct replacement rather than a DD punt ?

He definitely has the technical ability and coolness in possesion, even when pressed by multiple opponents.

Last season he was pretty much our only midfield player to take on opponents with the ball, a role that Bissouma currently thrives in.

I have no issues with Sanchez starting tbh. Sanchez alongside VDV with the rest of the first XI is absolutely fine. Sanchez in a second string is a nightmare, but not solely because of him.

Our midfield is more important to the way we play than any other area imo. Tuesday night underlined that for me. Sanchez has his faults but he’s able to play in that high line so I’m relaxed about him staying. We need to get Dier out somehow, but that looks unlikely now.

Pointless having 'true DM skillset' if you are not press resistant when we are playing a high line.
But much more useful if you're under the cosh, which we absolutely will be at points this season. The role he did against United at home, coming on and strengthening our midfield is exactly where he is most useful.

I however agrees that he's obviously not the best fit if we're looking to dominate possession and play high up the pitch.

Spot on...Tuesday showed the difference in quality between Biss, Sarr and Madders vs PEH, Skipp and GLC

Not a surprising update from O keefe, but shows how unlikely it is. In under 12 hours we need to move PEH on, and spend circa £90M on Johnson and Gallagher. Would love it to happen but seems very doubtful

I don’t think it is, we have all the Kane cash sitting as we got so much upfront. If we didn’t have that I would 100 percent agree.
