I only wanted him as it meant more chance on 2x non HG centre backs (ie. Tapsoba and VDV). But sounds like Gallagher will be too much and we’ll punt for Veiga or another non-HG midfielder, meaning we go for Tosin (HG) and one other non-HG centre back.

I just don’t see it with Gallagher. I get that his stats are good - but so are Hojbjerg’s. He never passes the eye test whenever I see him (that’s pretty infrequently though)

I think they'll end up agreeing a fee with West Ham for around 40m. West Ham need to make a signing sharpish and Chelsea are just using the typical negotiating tactics to squeeze out a few more million.

Seemed a good fit for Ange style but £40m is £5-£10m too much. Actually has much to offer if played regularly but still to be persuaded that we need him as some of current options being ignored.

He’s only had one good season in the Premier League and when he kept banging them in for Palace my thought was more ‘this kid is on such a hot streak’ rather than ‘wow, this guy is special’.

Wouldn’t mind having a looking a him for a fire sale price but not for +£40m.
